Still in shock....!!!!

OMG!!!! I am approved!!! I got my approval and my surgery date all at once. (September 16th, at 1 pm at John Hopkin's Bayview, in Baltimore MD) I was calling my insurance company from work about some other appointment, and they asked if there was anything else they could help me with. I said.. ehh.. what the hell... Did my surgeon send anything to you yet? They said.. yes and it was approved. Ummm, I said.. but I only had my consult less than 3 days ago. "yeah, but you are approved" This is still is ringing in my ears!! I was kinda expecting a fight with the insurance company , so I was sitting kinda silently in shock, still on my work phone with the insurance company, when my cell phone rang and it was the surgeon's office calling me to tell me I was approved and to give me my surgery date. My head is swimming.. I suddenly feel like I have SO much to do!! But first.. the celebritory dance!--> In the 30 minutes since the phone calls, I now have my nutritionist appt set and my anesthesiologist consult the same day... (both less than a week away)....and I have all my my pre-op testing scheduled for Thursday! By Sept 1st.. everything will be done and set. WOW.. this is finally happening!!!!!!!!!! My wish has been granted! I am nervous but I am excited as well. I still have alot of questions. sigh.. I am SO SO SO SO happy! Now I got to go tell everyone I know!!! More later............. I am sp happy for you. I know what you mean by in shock. I had no fight either. I will be going in on Sept 1st for the RNY. I knew 6 weeks in advance and I still have alot of stuff to do. good luck lori chapel hill, nc

I've been "done" with my appointments for a while now, Only thing left is the anesthesiology appointment (on Friday) and then I'll be ready to go. September 1 is sooo close I can feel it, but at the same time, I want it to be here now so I can start losing... okay, I do want my "Last meal" LOL... if all goes well, I'm going to have mustard fried catfish and jambalya... yummy. I had the choice between going in for surgery Aug 11 or Sept 1... unfortunately the Aug 11 date only gave me 2 weeks from when I was making the appointment and I couldn't be off my meds for a month at that point (required for recovery since they are immuno-suppressants!) So, here I am, dragging along wanting surgery sooo bad! Only one more week! Hugs Rachel
