Got a date! Sept 1st.

Congrats Felicia and hi to everyone! I am scheduled for Friday 9/2/05 at 11:15AM. I am a bit nervous but forging ahead with confidence! I can't wait for it to be over already! I took a before pic which looks horrendous and scary to me! Can't wait to keep taking new pics as the metamorphosis begins. Well, nice to meet you all and good luck to us all. Mill

hi Felicia!! I am on the 1st as well and I am nervous about the tubes and drains. I don't want to be awake for the tube down my throat and was wondering if anyone rembember them taking it out cause my surgeon said you have to open your eyes before they remove it and that scared me.

You are awake, you open your eyes, you cough it up for them, then fall back asleep... you'll also move yourself from the gurney to the operating table and back (they'll keep them still and assist you) and will "swallow" the tube while in the same groggy state... good news is that they give you a nifty little drug that makes it so you don't remember a bling blang thing and while it's happening you don't really realize that it IS happening because you're not really awake, just highly compliant.
