I AM LOOKING FOR EMAIL BUDDIES GOING THROUGH WLS
Hi, my date is set for Sept 6th . I am excited. Things have gone so smooth it is unbelieveable. I have read such horror stories about approval with insurance companies. I was prepared for the worst! But now I am ready to go. My pre op testing is scheduled for this upcoming Tues and I can't believe two weeks later, I will be living a different life style. I am so excited, but also would like to talk to others going through this too. I have so many questions and I am so thankful for this site.
I am open and look forward to communication to others like me.
Thanks and God bless
Janice

Hi Janice,
I too have a surgery date, September 20th. I have been having anxiety attacks at night laying in bed all night thinking about the surgery. I am going through the Wish Center in Renton, Washington. They are very thorough, I have never had so many Dr. appt.'s. I still have to get my mammogram, bone density scan, and I left the best for last.....the endoscopy and colonoscopy!!!! I am dreading those, but I'll be asleep and won't know what they are doing to me.
I have a pre-op appointment on Sept. 14th and on the 7th I'll start on my liquid protein only diet until the 20th. The Dr. said it helps to shrink your liver and makes the operation go easier. They have to take out my gallbladder and anything that will make this go easier will be fine with me.
I have talked to a lot of people and they are so happy they had this done. I have been overweight and battling weight this since I was 12 years old and now I'm 53 and have been on every diet know to mankind.
Your date is approaching soon. Please keep in touch and let me know how your doing. I am on my computer everyday so please don't hesitate to write and let me know how your feeling...it will be my date soon.
Thanks,
Sandy
Hi Rachel! Wow your date is quickly approaching. I wish you much luck and hope that God truely guides the hands of each surgeon performing the WLS's. I feel so blessed that I am going to be able to have this surgery done. I have dreamt about it for years and now, I am able to do it. Was your insurance approved quickly?
Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Tonite I ordered some protein powders and vitamins. Don't know if I am getting the right stuff, but want to be prepared. I will make sure I take Chap Stick! Take care. Janice
