it's been a while - I'm sorry! I haven't forgotten any of you and never will. Things are going well for me - I am still dating the same man, I'm still working at a job I really enjoy, my girls are doing wonderful - Kerri is happily married and loving her job as an RN and Erin is back in school in her senior year and applying to Law Schools...so what's wrong with me? Why can't I be happy? I seem to be trying to terminate the relationship I am in but can't seem to bring myself to do it - I think I could love this man but I just don't think he's the right person for me - I am 48 years old and THINK I know what I want but seem to be afraid to take the steps to get it...so what does all that bring me to???? FOOD! When in doubt - eat! That's how I got thru the first 45 years of my life, right? I haven't gained any weight (in pounds) but I can feel it in my clothes...and honestly - it's a horrible feeling - I just can't seem to "control" it. I woke up yesterday morning and thought - I really need to get back on track - so after work I rode my bike about 5 miles and then walked 3...I am sooooo out of shape! I was exhausted but actually felt better than I have in a long time - so today calls for more walking and getting back to running the stairs...I got lazy - I met this guy in April and basically stopped exercising in May...now it's as tho I have to start all over again.... I just want to be happy - I think that will make all the difference in the world and will make me WANT to keep a healthy attitude! Any suggestions? I could use all the help I can get... Linda, When you get fed up, you will do something. You asked for suggestions, so here goes... 1. You need to feel better about you!! I dont know you well, but it seems from what you have shared, that you have not totally dealt with the issues that brought you to Weight Loss SUrgery...(this is NOT a flame) a. Do something every day that makes you feel good FOR YOU(not anyone else) It's more of a QUALITY thing than a quantity or expensive thing... YOU ARE WORTH IT! examples can even be, just STANDING up for yourself! Make time for you. I know for me at first, it was TERRIBLY difficult, and I felt guilty doing it.. but more and more found, if I didnt DO IT, no one else was going to..... 2. DON'T SETTLE for LESS!! (you're still young enough to LIVE!! still have about 50% more time on this earth, do you really want to stay stagnant?) 3. Work on the issues that brought you to gain weight a. Pastor b. Counselor c. Friend 3. Don't DO IT ALONE!! a. Keep connected with a support group in your area(check out your state forum or Dr office) Even at 2 years we STILL need to relate to people who have been there and done that!! I find even helping newbies, keeps me grounded, and even makes ME fell good TOO!! **** GOOD NEWS !!!!!*** You are noticing these potential problems BEFORE the weight is PACKED BACK ON!! Do something for yourself to keep this weight out NOW!!! Return to the basics, and get support! What are you afraid of? Write a list of pros and cons and weigh the options.. Sometimes he PROS will REALLY WIN!!! Girl as my grandma told me pull your shirt down and pull your pants up and put a smile on your face and get moving with the day. I know how you feel but we can't keep running to food with our problems work it off (easier said than done) just remember the slider food is not your friend it just makes it easier to keep putting food into our bodies. Eat something that is going to stick to you someone told me about the turkey pepperoni's, take 6 of them and put em in microwave and get them crunchy they help alot and its full of protein. IF this relationship is not working then get out no reason for you to stay unhappy for another 45 years do something about it now before its too late or you won't ever leave. hugggsssss
