Reconstructive Surgery, Phase 1 Scheduled!

Howdy y'all!! I just wanted to let you all know that I will be having my "jello" (as my kids call my tummy) removed on May 3rd. I will be having skin excision and a tummy tuck....I am in a size 20 now, and I hope this will bring me to at least a size 16 or smaller!! When we get closer to my surgery date, my dh will take some pictures and we'll get them posted! ~~em

Good Luck I had my panni removed the same time I had my hernia repaired...I keep looking and feeling because I am so amazed that I don't have it any more ! I think I even had a little "pouch" when I was young. I really didn't change sizes because I still have the "hips and thighs"... Sandy

That is wonderful Em! I will praying for you! I had my consult March 1. The insurance company wanted more information--that was last week. I am hoping to hear something in the next week or two. I know, if you are anything like me, you are waaaay excited. Congrats! Tracy

I had a breast reduction/lift and full abdominplasty in December. They removed 5 lbs from my stomach and tightened the abdominal muscle. I went from a Size 10 to a Size 6 or 8, depending on the clothes. You won't have a "perfect" body, and the scar isn't very nice, but not having that hanging piece of meat is indescribably wonderful By the by, I got a quote to get a median thigh and butt lift and it will cost me $9100! I'll have to wait a bit on that 280/145

Hey Emily! Just hopped over here from the BAMA board and saw your post. Who did you decide to use? I have my first appt with Dr kevin Obrian at Brookwood On may 2, Did you get anything approved by ins. I hope I do! I am a size 16 now with most all of the excess of course in my wonderful flap of skin that hangs down half way down my thighs. hugh! I am using Dr. Jason Jack at Hedden Plastic Surgery. Dr. DeWitt actually recommended him and he spoke at his WLS support group recently (which I do not attend, it is too far). When I met with him I immediately liked him and he was very open and honest about things that the previous consult I had didn't reveal to me.
