In the last month or so, my blood sugar has bottomed out to the point of me being faint, shaky and a little scared. Today, I took my blood sugar on my dh's glucometer and it read 48....normal is between 80 & 120 or so. I just wondered if anyone is experiencing this, and if so, what you are doing about it. ~~em

I was having that problem before I got pregnant so I just started keeping cheese sticks and juicy juice on hand for when I felt a little weird. Shel

A couple of times I think I had that problem...some freinds on here told me to carry some candy with me so if i felt that way to eat a peice of candy.. I didn't get faint but i got shaky and real hot and then real hungry.

I'm having that same problem. One minute I'll be fine, the next I'll be shaking like a leaf and feeling weak and weird...I send my kids to the fridge for some juice and a cheese stick, like Shelly does! I lay down for a bit and within an hour, I'm better. Gotta add more good carbs to your diet to keep this from happening... Paula

Hey guy's I have had that same problem...Shaky,sweaty then really hungry.Funny thing is that it has happened sometime's within an hour or so after I've eaten.I have'nt checked my blooed sugar but my brother is a diabetic and he has the same feeling's when his blood sugar drop's so I kinda thought that was what I was experiencing.~Tonya King

Hi there, This is weird. It's happened to me too on a handful of occasions. Like Tonya said, even after I'd eatten fairly recently, I could TELL my blood sugar was low because of shakiness and extreme hunger. I have both parents and a brother who are diabetic, so I have some idea. My blood sugar hasn't been taken since surgery, but was basically normal. Maybe I should get a testing kit and see. My sister who had same surgery in 2000 said that it's fairly normal for us bypass patients to experience low sugars from time to time. I just feel a very real need to eat something quick!

Yep I have had a few episodes of the same thing. I get pretty grouchy when my blood sugar gets lower so I usually will eat somehting at that point, but I have had the same shaky, hot and then hungry thing, and only an our or so after I ate a good meal and it seems to hit me suddenly. I usually eat some fruit or a mint and rest til the episode is over.
