I need your help
For about 5 days now my stomach has been bothering me. It doesn't hurt constantly. But if I eat something drink something it hurts. The pain is down low and feels sorta like a flu like hurting... almost gassy or Diarrhea type feeling... I thought it would go away soon but it hasn't...Can ANYONE give me an idea as to what is causing this???
Heidi,
Could be a virus. There's been a LOT of stuff going on out there lately...
Have you been eating something different in the last week that could be causing lower intestinal gas? That's what it sounds like. Call your doctor if it keeps up for another day or so...Do you have a fever? If so, call right away...
Do you have your appendix? I know someone that just had her appendix burst and they didn't find it until after it had burst...she had RNY too. Better to have it checked now than be sorry.

Heidi - how long has it been happening? if it's been the 5 days it may very well be a touch of a virus ... BUT!! don't let it go on too long...
long story VERY short - June last year - virus symptoms - gassy & diarrhea feelings but no diarrhea at all - I just had pains and felt as tho I wanted to "poop" (sorry) ---- 1 week went to the ER - they ran tests and found nothing -- 2 weeks later still having "pains", not constant but I knew they were there...just annoying "gas" pains...now they seemed to be moving around to my back at times...ER AGAIN - more tests...nothing (I think they thought I was out of my mind) - my surgeon did an upper endoscopy - he found 2 ulcers - put me on ulcer meds - hmmmm that didn't work but I agreed to give it time...I spent the entire summer with these pains...sometimes worse than others but never so bad that I couldn't deal with them...Sept 9th (one year anniv of surgery) woke up at 3 a.m. thinking I was going to die!!! - the pains were horrible - if I breathed in too fast they hurt, I could barely move... called my surgeon - ER YET AGAIN - this time he wasn't letting me out until he found out what was wrong...a repeat of all the same tests plus some that they hadnt done revealed nothing once again...luckily he wasn't accepting this (the fact that I was in tears may have given him a hint ) - he told me that he needed to "go in" - he was going to do exploratory lap surgery to look around and see what he could find...emergency surgery that afternoon found that I had scar tissue on my intestines (it was hiding) and it was "tunneling" and "wrapping" around itself which was causing the pain...that's why it wasn't constant - it would only hurt if I ate or drank something! So he fixed it and I went home the next morning - I have been pain free ever since...
it's worth getting checked out - and if they can't find anything when they run the tests for you - ask your surgeon about scar tissue...it's a very common occurance with this surgery!
I hope you feel better very soon - keep me informed
Love,Linda
