Well we got there and were taken back to this little room to wait. I was weighed and Gained 6 lbs in my 7 weeks of pregnancy, According to the little twisty circle I am 7w1d. They took a whole history asked a zillion questions, the nurse could see I was a bit upset so she asked what it was and I explained that with being a bypass patient they made it sound as if I needed high risk OB care ASAP and now I wasn't even getting an exam or a sono or anything. She went on to explain yes I am high risk and will be needing to be handled differently but more in a blood work and developmental way and the only reason I was getting so much blood work and sono care last time is becouse by 5 weeks it was already a threatened MC. She said it is much worse for me to stress then it is to just let things progress and wait for something to come up and she would answer all the questions she would have to in order to make things better for me. Why no visit or checking until 8 weeks? Becouse up to 8 weeks things are so delicate in there they don't want to take chances in disrupting the settling in process. Then HOW can you know it's okay in there if no one cares to check?..Blood work can tell them everything they need to know in the first 8-10 weeks, hcg, progesterone, vitamin levels ect. Okay what about the spotting well not spotting realy but discharge? Most likley it is related to fluid intake, If a woman is dehydrating sometimes that is how the body reacts and once they up fluids everything is fine and many women experience this with no harm at all to the pregnancy. Well okay but what if it's not okay then what how will I know if it is dehydration or MC ? If I see the discharge , as soon as I leave the restroom drink 32 oz of room temp water in 15-20 min and then lay down for 1 hour , when I get up if there is nothing then it was a fluid issue, If the discharge has doubled or turned to red blood then head to the ER. So I pee every 30 min and puke whenever I get near anything resembling food and thats ALL I have to show for being pregnant no exam, no sono nothing?? Peeing is a very good sign , puking or as they like to call it morning sickness is related to hormone levels another good sign at this point focus on vitamins and fluids and we will address it again at your 10 week apt if it's still that much of a problem. They are taking 6 tubes of blood (HUH what 6 tubes, did i mention I detest needles?)and checking the hcg and progesterone levels and can reassure me Monday the numbers are good or adjust care as needed.(again ...needles?) So uhm what about the chance of twins, how can we know that? Back to the bloodwork , it will tell everything they need to know in the first 10 weeks. Then the woman asked me if I was able to give a urin sample, I said well I'm pregnant , I pee every half hour , my only problem with a sample is no one mentioned it or gave me a cup, she'll get me a cup Okay onto the blood work, obviously I lived through it, oh and wheres the urine sample...again no one will get me a cup, she will get me a cup , she takes me to the window to schedule the next appointments and this other girl asks me why i didn't drop a sample to be checked, so I informed her I been asked so many times about that sample and no cup so the next person who asked is gettin peed on cuz i'm not holding it much longer...lol Okay she says follow me I have cups. got the cup , dropped the sample to be dipped and got appointments. Feb 8th I will be going in at 10 weeks for my first official OB appointment for internal and fundus measurements and such. Feb 22 I will be going in at 12 weeks for my neural something sonogram they said it's not as important to know there is a baby in there (blood work references) but to know that the spinal cord has formed and connected to the brain and they can't see that till 12-14 weeks. Then the nurse was nice enough to assure me I am a normal healthy post MC over reactive caring mommy to be! Okay now I babbled way to much..lol Shel EDD 09/03/07

That Damn Cup!! i know the feeling that has happened to me too. Wait for the Ultra sound....they make you hold it then press that dam thing on ur tummy...and with me most of the time, after i held it all day, then that wasn't good enough, I had to empty my bladder and then they did an internal ultrasound...and for that ur bladder has to be completely empty...why they didnt do that to begin with I have been pregnant 6 times!!! and I only have 2 children. I lost all the others. One was a tubal and that hurt. so i know about the many blood test to see the hcg levels, at one point i was going everyday....when i was pregnant with Ashlee (this was my 3rd preg and first child), i bleed alot at first, but by the time i got to the doctors office i had stopped, they were like are you sure you were bleeding.....i was like, well it was blood and it was coming out of me so yes.... after Ashlee My next pregnancy was Justyn so it went well except he was breeched so I had to have a c-section. then I got pregnant like 3 years after him and lost it and then finally i was pregnant with the tubal and of course they took that. It is a bumpy ride so prepare you self...but the rewards are wonderful

Take a deep breath- it is such a long wait. I know that you think that the ultra sound will make it all better, but honestly there is so much that you will worry about along the way. Once you hold the little bean in your hands you may actually then start to breath again. Then they do silly things like walk ride a bike etc. Relax as much as you can and enjoy this. It goes by real fast, my baby is 16.5 and getting his drivers license soon. donna

Motherhood Is with you from the day you conceive until the day you die. Your children live within your heart. my children are 27 and 30 two daughters. I cannot go a day without talking to them. They are my best friends also. My biggest supporters. No 2 kids are alike. Shel your going to love this. Your husband looks like John Goodman. The actor. From his picture. I cant see how you cannot know the sex.(But Thats your option as a mother) I never knew with both of mine the surprise is great. But I did know with all my grandkids. I seen all of them born. Cut the cord on 2 of them. Knowing the sex was great because my daughters talk to the baby while carring them. And its almost like they know you and their name when they are born. Its just really strange how it all falls into place. They really learn alot while they are in you being developed Hugs to you all Barb

Shel, Everything you're feeling is NORMAL new mom stuff. First pregnancies conjur up every little question when we feel any little twinge or feeling in there. As long as your hcg is doubling on a daily basis, that's great! Means pregnancy is going well. That's why you're sick...the hcg is doubling daily... I was so sick with Anna, everyday for 7 1/2 mos...she came 6 weeks early! Get those fluids in...and your protein, too. Gotta do it, I know that you don't feel like eating, but that baby has to grow, honey...force it. I was considered a "high risk" cause I was in my mid 30's and needed to take psych meds for my panic disorder...so, I went in a lot and had a lot of blood work done, etc. The OB's know what they're doing...as do the nurse practs. They're really good, too. Try not to worry...your body is growing a baby! Everything will be ok. I had discharge too, they told me that it's sometimes the baby/fetus attaching to the uterous... Later on, you'll know if you're getting dehydrated when you don't feel the baby move as much. So, you'll have to keep the water going, going, going. It happened to me and I went in and got hooked up and the baby was fine, I was just dehydrated and she needed more amniotic fluid to float around in! I drank a whole bunch of water while I was up there and she started swimming around and the monitor took off! I guess she was thirsty too! Hang in there... Paula

You're going to be ok. Take a deep breath and enjoy this time... ( not the throwing up) LOL!!!! Try not to stress as it is not good for you. If you cant eat, may I suggest going back to drinking some protien shakes, cause if you dont eat the baby IS going to get his nurishment from YOUR body, and that is not good for you.. I am PRAYING for you & BEAN!!! Tanya 358/194/185
