Don't forget your supplements!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to tell you that although I don't post on here much, I still read and think of you all alot. I am driven mainly by guilt, I guess. I read how great everyone else is doing, adhering to the rules of the pouch, losing a ton of weight, etc. and I am just terrible at it, so I feel I have nothing to contribute. I have lost 110# now total but it's been extremely slow thanks to my behavior, but I still feel great and have gotten a fresh wind since the 1st of January and am remotivated. Anyhow, I wanted to share something with you guys. I've shared before that my sister had this same procedure in 2000. Well, she has always been TERRIBLE at taking her supplements. Now, almost 7 years later, she is suffering the consequences. I've been nagging her but with no luck. She has neuropathy with excruciating pain in her hips and legs and takes pain meds on a regular basis. She found out yesterday that she is so anemic that they wanted to admit her into the hospital for I.V. fluids, but she refused, opting to take iron for 2 weeks so she doesn't have to leave her 2 yr. old. Doctor doesn't think it'll do any good. Her blood pressure is high, her nerves are shot and so on. More blood work coming in in a few days. I hate this. I've read soooo much about the importance of our supplements. Simple things like the B-12, you put under your tongue for pete's sake! If your body lacks this too long, you will suffer from anemia, nervous system damage, blurred vision, poor memory and more. I KNOW I'm not perfect in the eatting department, but I know that not taking my supplements daily can ruin my health permanently! Please...don't forget these! They're important. Hugs to all, Kelly

Hi Kelly, what do you mean you are terrible at the rules! We all fudge in certain ways. That's life. We do what we can do, and if we do it right 90% of the time, we're good. I am sorry about your sister. I am pretty anal about my vitamins. I remember hearing someone say that by the time they discover you have a problem it is too late (well not that you're going to die, but that ther problem is already there!!). So I try real hard. Keep trying, don't give up, and keep coming back and read so you'll see we are all in the same boat!! love you Kelly! donna

Thanks, you two, for your encouragement. Donna, I'm glad you're anal about your vitamins! I try to be most of the time. The only thing I forget is the calcium pill, since we need to take that a few hours after the others. I need to though! Osteoporosis runs in my family! I will keep trying, for always. And coming back is something I do alot, I just don't reply much, but I'm here. Love everyone here, we ARE in the same boat, I know. Thanks bunches, Kelly
