Take your vitamins and get some sunlight!
Just a friendly reminder to always take your vitamins...
I had some blood work done last week and once again, my Vit D is VERY low. Low vitamin D = no absorption of calcium thus my body starting to leech the calcium from my bones. Thus, chances of osteoporosis goes up. My parathyroid levels are up already, indicating it.
SO, take your vitamins and calcium and get some sunligiht too. It gives you extra Vitamin D.
I have to take a mega dose (prescription) of Vit D once a month for a while and hopefully it'll got up. I pray it does.
Exercise helps increase it too.

Hi Paula, I hear this quite often, so I don't think it's unusual. I had a friend who had low Vit D and her doctor sort of messed up and prescribed 50,000 a day (I think it's usually a week). There wasn't any problem, she questioned it after a week.
Anyway. I think this is fairly easy to fix, isn't it? I am pretty anal about my vitamins. I've mentioned before that I am not a good eater, that is I dont eat alot, so I thinik it's doubly important for me. That and my protein.
As soon as you can, that is when you're the right age and I don't know when that is, get a bone density test, if you haven't already. That wil give you a good baselline from now on.
Take care,
love

Paula,
Thanks for the reminder. I am pretty good with viatmins but getting enough SUN...Forget it. I live in a cloud area of Germany!! No Sun here. Happy New year and follow Dr. Orders. Good luck on the Vit D. And I guess we should all get those new bone density tests? Donna was mentioning. jacqueline
