We're moving!!!
Well, we've been waiting a couple of months for the answer and Bob got it the other day...he got a great promotion to management, but at Bradley Int'l airport in Hartford, CT...
Though I'll miss living near the ocean (it'll only be and hour's drive) all of our family lives in CT and this is a great opportunity for Bob in the last decade of his career.
He'll have to commute for a bit, cause they want him to start in the matter of weeks...the house is no where to sell....we have some touching up and finishing to do. The house is only 5 years old, so it's in great shape with a lot of add ons and specials to the house...hopefully, it shouldn't be too hard to sell, despite the present market...
Oh, moving...this will be our 7th move in 11 years (our 11 yr anniversary is today!) and I'm no stranger to moving. I HATE IT and DREAD IT! But, it'll be ok. We're going to look in Windsor, CT where all of Bob's family lives and where he grew up. The airport is in Windsor Locks, CT, so, it'll cut Bob's commute, too.
The kids are great with it (so far) and want to move. Tim, I worry about because of his separation anxieties, etc. But, he'll have family (cousins) near by and makes friends easily. He'll do fine.
We're trying to make it so they can finish out the school year here, but, if the house sells and we have to get out and we find a new one and it works out, they may have to change mid year.
I'm lifting it all up to the Lord cause I can't make or handle these decisions on my own!
Just wanted to let you know our news...
Now comes the hard work. Maybe the last pounds will come off as I get off my a$$ and get moving!
Paula
wow moving - good for you and congratulations to Bob on the promotion! what a way to start a new year!
I dread the day I have to pack up this house and move everything - I've been here for 24 years now - it's amazing all the stuff that we accumulate over the years...I have cleaned out most of the house since my divorce (his stuff is history ) but I still have the entire attic full and a workshop full of tools that I don't really know what they do
I wish you the best in your search for a new home and I'm sure the kids will be very happy living closer to family - kids adjust easily to life changes - it's the adults that have anxiety about these things.
Happy New Year to you and your family...
Linda
Well I'm glad this isn't the state forum!!! At least you'll still be here. Ugh, I hate moving. But it is a good time to throw things out. We always moved with the Army and that was so easy. The first time we had to move ourselves, we were like, ah, so who packs us!! What a hoot. Now the next time we move will be out west and I dread that, with all our animals (4 cats, 3 dogs). I suppose we'll figure it out by then, it's not in the real near future.
Connecticut always seems so pretty. It snows there doesn't it?? But not more than what you're used to?? You know kids are pretty well adjusted, and even your little Tim will probably be good with his cousins nearby. That will be great.
I'm excited for you - sell your stuff on eBay!! Make some bucks!
love
