Just had my plastic surgery on 12/11 and could not be happier that it's over! Even with the swelling I can't believe my now flat belly with cute belly button and breasts that are perky and shaped like boobs are supposed to be! Still on pain meds but able to sleep well. Doing walking for exercise and will be able to get back to aerobics in another two weeks! My next surgery in February will address my "batwings" so will be happy when that is done too! Can't believe how far I have come since my gastric bypass in 9/20/05 and how many people have been there along the way! Life is good! Happy Holidays! Lisa

I'm waiting for an ok from the ins to have my belly 'removed' when I get my hernia fixed. Probably won't be till after the New Year ( unless I have problems with my hernia) How was the pain compaired to wls ? Just wondering. Sandy

Hi Sandy, For me it is more uncomfortable than the gastric bypass, interestingly enough. I was in the hospital for 4 days with that surgery and home the same day after plastics! It seems that I was off my meds by about day 6 after bypass and I am still going strong on my pain meds after plastics on day 9. I have to say that I was up and walking around the next day - probably the worst is the first week but it has been totally manageable with the drugs. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will be back at work after two weeks for half days and I took three weeks off for my bypass. When I went to the doctor for my first check up and they changed the compression garmet so I could see my flat belly I coulnd't believe it. They had to pry the mirror from my hand! I was more concerned about the scar before surgery but after seeing the new belly could care less! There is definitly more discomfort for me but my head is so excited about the changes and all I have achieved that it really helps deal with it. I am doing exactly what my doctor says and healing the way I should and that's the important thing. Believe me when I say it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Holidays! Lisa

Hi Lisa, first off - where have you been!! You haven't posted in forever. I miss you. Congrats on your plastic surgery. Seems like this the time for lots of us here on the board (not me yet). I'm with Pam, share some pictures as soon as you can. It's always encouraging for the rest of us to see. Good luck to you Lisa, and please check in more often! love donna

Hi Donna! Thanks for the kind comments! I am doing great! The bypass and all that has followed almost seems like a dream. My life is so different in ways I did not even imagine and I would do it all again in a second. My only regret is that my "head" was not ready for this change 10 years ago. But luck and timing were with me when I did finally choose to make the decision and all has gone well as a result. You look fabulous in your picture so I imagine the journey is going great for you too! Happy Holidays and May the New Year bring more joy and goodtimes than ever before! Lisa

Congrats, Lisa! Give yourself ample time to heal...Did insurance pay for any of the surgeries? I'd love to have my boobs lifted and a small (full C) implant put in. DH told me he may increase the flexible spending health account for 2008 so it can be included and we can have a tax deduction on it... I don't need much of a tummy tuck, but my batwings are BAD. I'm afraid of scaring. I get bad bumps/keloids and don't want to live like with those showing. I'm wishing you all the best with your new image! Paula
