Hi Pam, good for him for losing weight since your surgery. I wished it worked like that for me, but it was the opposite!! I weighed more than Greg before surgery too, of course. I couldn't wear his shirts -- now they are too big!! Thanks for the hints Pam, love donna

Hi Donna, That's funny. MY husband too. He likes to eat plus like you I would give him my left-overs. We went to a dance on Saturday and my daughter took pictures and when she showed us, he was upset at how big he looked. My daughter said "look Dad, you're bigger than Mommie now" Yes, he did not like that too much. LOL He knows he has to get it under control but it's hard for him. He does go to the gym with me, so that's good. But we have a restaurant so I always see him picking on pieces of things in the back. He says I always catch him. My husband won't do weigh****chers either. He just wants to watch out and try not to over eat. (we've all been there) anyway, looks like we all have the same issue. Good Luck. sincerely, Koukla

Hi Donna, Having the Diner isn't the hard part. When I'm there I'm good. I eat right. I'll have broiled fish and vegetable. My problem was always when I came home. I would have the junk. Eating junk was my destressing escape. Plus I was always a closet eater. I never was big on healthy food. always wanted the cakes, and candies and chips, and ice cream and donuts. You know the good stuff. My husband is the opposite. He loves the healthy foods but too much of it. He also likes the pies and ice cream. But not as much as me. That's why I had the gastric bypass. I knew I needed to get sick if I ate the wrong stuff. Yes, you are not alone. love, Koukla

Looks like many of us are having the same problem here. My hubby has gained about 35 pounds since my surgery, because he too ate my leftovers. Now, I just bring home what I cant eat and eat it the next day. We went to a sweetheeart banquet the other weekend, and they took our pictures also. Hubby had the same reaction,,look how big I am!! Soon after he said he needed to do something. So, since I have all the WW books and counters, I suggested, I will make the WW food, and portion it out for you in your lunch and supper, hows that?? He agreed, and I promised to buy him some sugar free ice cream,( he loves ice cream and that is his weakness). So far, he has lost 12 pounds. He is so proud of himself. he did splurge over the holiday, gained a pound and went right back to his regimen. As long as I help, he doesnt mind. He doesnt need the meeetings,,just a little help with the food. I do the counting,,he does the eating and keeps away from junk food at work. You might try that suggestion, Did you know you can join online?

Hi Betsy, that was good of you to do the ww for him. That is a real good suggestion. And I did know you could do it online, so I might look into that. One problem I think he has is that he saw me struggle for years going from one diet to another with no results, and I think he has decided that is how it will be for him. But thanks for the suggestion ---and Greg is a big sweet eater too, so the sugar free is a good idea. love donna

South Beach is one of the best diets for anyone that needs to lose weight. Our surgeon had us follow it prior to surgery and we lost a lot of weight. It's simple to do and you can eat almost anything. He probably should just cut out the "white" things in life...sugar, flour, bread, etc. Go to: http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/ For an outline of the plan. It really works. My brother in law just also lost 45 lbs on it and he's 65. Men lose so much more and more easily, too. The *******s! Paula

Hi Paula, I was hoping you would give me some suggestions!! And the SB sounds good. I personally like it better than Atkins or WW. I may do it and just not mention it to him. Just have SB food around. You're right, men do lose fast -- look at Bob!! Wow -- he's doing great. Thanks for the info Paula, love donna

That's what I figure...I am still in the shopping mode. He says " I don't want any more ice cream....don't pick any up for me..and I don't so what do I hear ? You got her kind of ice cream but didn't get any of mine. I pick up pretzles, popcorn....I know bad. . I get myself fruit and now that the weather is changing it's getting more expensive. If it is in the house I'm in trouble. If he likes the Atkins try that again. If you find a good one let me know... Sandy
