Is 1300 Calories really to much
Hi Barb,
No calories are too many when you concider the calories vs calories out rule.
To maintain they need to be closer together for those of you at or neer goal.
For those of us not yet neer goal, well our calories out needs to surpass our calories in.
I think thats part of our problem is that we got confortable (or lazy) about keeping track of this.
When we started the first week post op we were so wordied about trying to get the stuff in we tracked everything...Protine,water,vitamins,excersize.
Now that we are past 1 yr out we have so much more energy and we are all living and enjoying lives we couldn't have had pre op that we don't do these things anymore..and we should, at least a couple days a week.
Sometimes when I reflect on things I remember how I used to struggle just to try to get in liquids...For me I didn't worry so much about the protine cuz i knew I had alot to lose so I focused on liquids becouse I was scared to death of being dehydrated, and yet I got relaxed and stopped being focused and ended up in the hospital a few hours on IV.
This week I focused more on liquids other then soda, trying to make sure i got in the protine and taking my vitamins,I haven't excersized as much but I was doing yard wok for winter, and re aranged my bedroom, calked windows, put up plastic stuff like that, so it counted as calories burned so I didn't beat myself up....If we look at things now even if we didn't excersize technically we still move WAY more then we did pre op.
Sorry I didn't mean to babble just wanted to say yes I think 1300 is fine if you balance it with calories out.

Hi Barb,
Have you checked the website www.thinnerself.com ? He gives you a report that says "you need _-_-_ calories to maintain and _-_-_ calories to lose" or something like that. I like playing with the reports on that site.

Hey Barb, I have just gotten back into doing fitday. Wow was I surprised. Wednesday I had 1372 calories, 116g carbs and 108g of protein. Thursday it was 1509,182 and 81. I am getting in all my liquids and vitamins which is the good news. I also went on to thinnerself and found out that I need to eat 2100 cals just to maintain. I think like everyone else I need to get back with the program. I want to keep a record of what I am doing and go from there. If I start to loose at 1400 than that will be the magic number.
