WoW & not so wow
I have been looking for a long skirt for weeks now (yes I am a shopaholic ) - I bought one last week in Penney's because it was there - I didn't love it but I bought it anyway. After work today I decided to take a ride to the mall just to "look around"...I went into Dress Barn to look at skirts...I found an entire rack of exactly what I wanted! I picked out two in size 12 (one black and one brown tweed) and went to look for blouses to wear with them (of course I couldn't just buy the skirts and be happy..noooooooooo) I found 2 blouses (luckily they were on the sale rack) - I went to the fitting room to try on the skirts (I knew the blouses would fit) and when I came out to look in the 360 degree mirror the woman that works there told me that it looked really nice but she thought it was a little big for me .. a 12 big???? cool! she even offered to go get me a 10 in both skirts...I tried them on and they FIT! not only did they fit I could BREATHE too! I don't ever remember being in a size 10 - I was a size 16 when I got married (shhhhhhhh that was almost 25 yrs ago). I was so excited that I went out and paid for them and now I HAD to find boots! I went nextdoor to Marshalls and found a pair of mid calf black boots - picked them up and paid for them - went to Payless next and got a pair of brown boots too - I was on a roll! Got home and tried everything on - the skirts and blouses look really nice and the boots fit but they don't zip all the way (there is about 3/4 of an inch that just won't zip ) ... the fact of the matter is - you can't see the top of the boot under the skirt (my calves refuse to cooperate and are still very fat ) so I am thinking that I might just keep the boots and wear them as is (that's really silly isn't it???but I need to justify this somehow!) oh well - I had a great WoW moment just to be let down by the stupid boots (it's not their fault - I really just hate my legs)
there you have it - there always seems to have to be something to drag us down when we're on a great high
hugsssssssss....Linda
sorry for whining but I just get so mad! (oh and the skirt from Penney's goes back tomorrow!!! I will NOT shop I will NOT shop)
It's not to bring us down but rather to keep us grounded
Like the weight on the string on the balloon.
Enjoy the ride but remember where you are and how ya got there.
10 is freakin awsome can't wait to get there, heck i'll be happy with 18's cuz i got nothin smaller then that hehehe
BTW the 14th if all goes well
Hugs,
Shel
Wow so psyched for your size 10. I was at Burlington Coat factory Saturday and was trying on different wool coats. My husband like one in particular and as I was modeling it one woman offered her advice. "try on a petite" the coat is to big in your shoulders and arms. I was stunned. I am 5'8" tall 168 pounds no where does that say petite....but just the idea that some one recommended it was a hugh wow....
I too have trouble with some high boots. Try on another pair that may be cut different. I have found that some many cloths are cut so different, I have to try everything on..
Hey if you end up shopping... remember we will never tell
