Excedrin pm
Hi Pam, I don't think I am in real bad pain anymore during the day. I rarely take anything. But at night when my leg is still it just sort of gets throbbing. but I think that is normal at this stage. It seems to be getting better. Also I push a lot during the day doing my physical therapy and I think I wear myself out!!
Thanks for your message, and also Pam, for your concern. I do think this is normal though.

Hi Donna,
As you know, any aspirin based products can cause irritation of the pouch and cause an ulcer..but, if taken once in a while to really help your pain, it should be ok. Take two Pepcid AC's (available over the counter) to help coat your stomach. My surgeon has Bob take this along with his back pain meds. And to prevent an ulcer.
I'd say that the Vicodin is the better choice for your pain control right now. Don't worry about getting addicited to it...you need it to control your knee pain and won't be on it forever. Just until you heal. Don't worry about taking it. JUST TAKE IT> You'll have a better night's sleep if you're not in pain. Instead of putting your pouch in jeopardy, take the Vicodin which is safe...
Hang in there hon.
