Hello all and happy Saturday!! One year and one month ago, I was recovering from being so obese and today...I ran a 5 k(3.1 miles) race to day for Breast Cancer awarenss month...In the cold, rainy fall day, up and down hills and although I did not come in near the top finishers, not only was I not last, but I did pretty good and felt OK when I finished. It is hard to image doing this a year ago: What a difference a year can make!! I also fit into a size 8 jeans which I KNEW would NEVER happen. Amazing what a difference a year makes. I still am about 15 pounds overweight according to all those medical charts but ya know, how many women 44 years old can run a 5 K race( With military and Hospital people) and not embarrass themselves? I was just so thrilled to death. I run daily but on a treadmill and this was my first attempt at outdoor running to see how much slower I might go..OK, Yes, A little slower, but OH MY GOSH!! I ran a 5 K race today...... MIRACLE!! YES!! And sorry to say, but I have given up on the "Friends" key..Ya'll will just have to know Ya'll are ALL MY FRIENDS and wonderful support group> Without your support this past year...who know's where I'd be? Thanks again for all your support. Cold, wet and rainy here in Germany but sending you all my warmest hugs!! Thanks, jacqueline PS: OCtober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Get those Mammograms ladies!! Early detection can save your life!! Hugs
