Finally , my year follow - up !
I met Dr. Katz yesterday. He seemed very nice. My labs were all good. We talked about the " alien" he suggested doing it lap... I was kind of hopeing for a tummy tuck....He said to talk to the ps and see what she had to say. If she thought it was a good idea they could get together and see what could be done and hopefully the ins . would cover it. If not than I do lap and am out of luck with the ps.....I asked him about what would be my "goal weight" he pulled out his little calculator and began pushing buttons. He said they would like the BMI to be at 30 so for me about 190 . yeah right ....last time I was 190 I had just gotten married....almost 35 years ago ! He asked me my goal and I said maybe 200 . He said to try for 210-215 . A year ago I would have died laughing because that would have been totally a "dream " but now I can look forward to trying for that. I got on the scale this morning and it said 224 !
I know it goes up during the day but seeing that number just made me want to
That means I only need to lose about 10 pounds or so..... WOW !

Sandy,
Good for you! I had my year appt finally last week too. Doc didn't say anything except that my labs were all great. He's told me in the past that I looked fantastic, and I've seen him at events along the way, so it's not like it's been months since I've seen him.
I did give him a huge frown when he told me that I'll see him at 18mos and then just yearly from there out. I love my surgeon and love seeing him. He's young and cool and cute! I can go w/ Bob when he goes for his appts...get my Dr Aranow fix!
I already passed my docs esitmate for weight loss 209...I'm 203 and stuck. My personal goal is 175, so, I don't know if I'll ever get there...I'm happy where I am, actually.
My surgeon always waits on doing hernias when the person goes for PS because it discounts the TT by about 4-6 thousand bucks. I've never heard of it being covered 100% but anything's possible with all the ins co's out there.
Good luck and I'm happy that you've done so well.

Best wishes(And if i could figure out this Friend thing...you would be one!!) jacqueline
