Hello all you smart and good vitamin takers!! Here is my question to you. How much iron do you take, what kind, and when do you take it? I know it is not a 'friendly' vitamin and needs to be taken only with Vit C (I think?) and that makes it hard for me to get it in. Help? love donna

hey donna....how's the knee coming along? hope you're feeling better my surgeon doesn't have me on iron - whatever is in the Centrum One-A-Day (which I take 2 of ) is all that I need, I guess....I also take 1000 mg of chewable Vitamin C every day...whenever he does my blood work he checks my levels and they must be okay! So I would think that if your surgeon doesn't specifically have you on iron I wouldn't take it...(it doesn't like ppl to poop ) Linda

Hi Linda, where are you -- did you get dumped on by snow?? Knee is coming - slow but sure. I haven't been on iron either, but after the knee surgery I turned up a little anemic and they want me to take some, so I thought I would ask. you're funny!! love donna

Donna I take the flinstone chewable with added iron and seems to work for me. I would check with your doc as they have a liquid and a pill form. Tammy O

hi donna no snow for me...I live on long island. luckily the snow stayed very very north of me. Unfortunately for my daughter she was visiting her boyfriends parents in Buffalo and got snowed in...she lives about an hour south (I think) of Buffalo where they only got about 6" of snow - so she missed a day of school but she survived I'm sure. I am not quite ready for snow yet...it's actually a little too cold for me already. I don't know how I am going to take this winter now that I don't have the body insulation to keep me warm...but don't get me wrong...I would much prefer to be cold than fat!!! hugsssssssss....Linda

Hey SS - there you are!! I've been a little off the board for a while, but I have missed you honey. Hope you're well. Thanks for the info, especially the runs business. Since I am slow these days getting up and to the potty I may think twice about that one!! love donna

Hi Donna My doctor suggests Ferrous Fumerate (200mg) with Vit. C (500mg) 1 X a day. They say that absorbs better than the other . Sandy
