Walk from obesity
Tomorrow (sat) I'm participating in the "Walk From Obesity" in CT. Though I live in RI, I go to a CT surgeon, so I join with the CT group.
Most all of the CT bariatric surgical groups participate as well as their patients. It's a 3k walk and the proceeds go to the ASBS foundation.
I am psyched to be doing this. I'm going to get to meet SO many people that I've gotten to know from the CT board here at OH. My surgeon will also be there. We have raffles, silent auctions and are going to have a picnic lunch afterwards.
It's held at a bea*****T and we're going to sit out afterwards and enjoy the day.
I would NOT have ever thought of participating in something like this prior to surgery. Man, have I come a LONG way!
Send good thoughts so I can win either the 51" screen tv (which we DON"T need) or tickets to opening day at the Boston Red Sox, or a two nights stay at the casino for hubby and me! (I NEVER win a thing, so I won't be disappointed!)
I couldn't attend it last year cause I was discharged from the hospital from my surgery that day...
I'll let you know how it goes. It's not a race, just a big group walk.
Check out www.walkfromobesity.com you may have a walk in your area that you can attend. They have them all over the country.
