1 Year for me!
Today is one year and one day since surgery. I went into surgery on my 33rd birthday--thats right what a great gift that was for me. Now every year I truly do celebrate my rebirth.
I went in at 323 and I am down to 162lbs today. That was a 26/28 down to a size 10 and bordering on those single digits.
I read post after post pre surgery, sat in awe wanting it to be me some day. Now I can only say...it's surreal. I thought I would be the fat girl all my life. I am not taking one moment of this transformation for granted either. Afterall, I had always promised the man up above if he would just give me the strength to lose the weight, I promised I would keep healthy and keep it off. I now love working out and am up to running 5 miles a night on the treadmill. I am one of those that actually love the energy the burn at the gym gives me!
I am horrible at keeping the right diet though. Some days I wonder if I am eating too much, too little, not the right things etc. I guess that will never change.
Wishing much success to those coming into surgery and those on their way down the scale. Each of you are so beautiful keep up the hard work!!
Kathleen - first, happy birthday and re-birthday!! Lots of people had their surgery close to their birthday, what a great thing. Kathleen, a big congratulations to you for your awesome weight loss. You have lost so well, you must be doing something right with the diet!!

Kathleen,
Congrats on one year!! Isn't it amazing what a difference a year and WLS can mean to our lives? I too run, between 3-4 miles but only 5 days a week and I have to do it in the am(EARLY) so i am still half awake!! You are just amazing and have done super. If I were you I would not worry so much about what I am eating except for eating the right things: PROTEIN, water and vitamins!! Too much or too little is subjective and depends totally on YOU. You are so active with all the running you should be just fine with whatever calories you eat. And your weight is great!! I am about 160 plus or minus depending on the day and have been there for about a month but a size 8 or 10 depending on the brand so who cares? Take care and enjoy year #2. Jacqueline
