How much are you still losing???

My weight loss has come to a halt. I lose here and there now, it seems. I hope it's not over for good, I'd like to lose another 30 lbs or so. If I didn't lose another pound, I would be happy, though. 125 lbs gone is huge to me and I'm happy with it. I've already met my surgeon's goal for 75% loss. The 175 is my personal goal. Are you all losing steadily still, or are you all almost done? I'm just curious. I know stastics show that we can lose up to 18-24 months, but don't know how realistic that is. I just don't want weight gain. I just need to really firm up and get my muscle tone back. I lost a lot during weight loss and I don't want my body to eat away at my muscles for food. The water aerobics and muscle toning exercises are really good and I love them. I will eventually start going to the gym part of our Y where there's an entire room of nautilus type of equipment. I'll have a trainer walk me through each machine to teach me how to do it correctly. I intend to keep up with the swimming. I actually took the kids to family swim yesterday afternoon and we had a blast. I was able to use the dumbbells and flat paddles for arm work, and I pulled the kids around with a noodle doing giant steps and jogging. It felt SO good. I used to be so embarrassed to go when I was super obese. Now, I don't mind as much. My thighs are SO dimpled and look gross, but, who the heck will remember me? I don't care. Being with my kids is more important. I'm only walking into and out of the pool area to the locker room for a minute! If I wasn't so tired today, I would take them again, but I'm exhausted and still in my nitegown at 3pm! paula

losing about 1/2 lb a week right now. But that's OK>..I can tell my body is changing. I've only lost 4 lbs in 2 months, but I've gone from 14P to 12P in pants and 14P to 10P in dresses or tops. Works for me. Pam 5'2" 282/152/145

Paula, I have only lost 2 lbs since 8/14, and that was in that last day!!! BUT***** I went from a 18/20 down to a 16, and wear a 12 dress..skirts 14.. I know it must be inches.. my anniversary id this week.. I"ll measure then.. I think it's pretty normal to slow down now. I have lost 142 lbs, and hope to still lose 31 more lbs... My surgeon didn't give me a goal, but my goal is 185 Unfortuately, I have only lost at a like 67% ...... I use the following web site: http://www.thinnerself.com/files/Expect_Chart.htm On this website @ 67%, it says my goal should be 206... I just want to be in ONDERLAND!!! Some people have said that if you are overweight for a long time that your bones become denser, and then weigh more, I dont know how true that is... but maybe after plastics I can be at my own personal goal.. not sure... Hi Paula, I haven't lost in the double digits since I was six months out! At six months I think I lost 9 lbs, and it has been going down every month. Last month it was three pounds. I'll weigh again on Saturday (my one year!!) and it might be 2 or 3. I have met my goal that the surgeon set for me which was 175-200. I am now at between 159-161. My personal goal is 150. I hope I get there, but in reality, I would be happy to stay where I am. Operative word here is 'stay'. I am like you - I don't want to gain, and I hate hearing 'bounce back' for wls patients. I need to ramp up my aerobics - I do pilates and yoga, but need to do something else. I haven't figured it out yet. and you're so right Paula, don't worry about the people at the pool, -- they are doing their own life and probably don't even notice you!! Just enjoy your kids, have I told you they grow up much too fast!! love donna

I've slowed way down too. Last month I only lost 5lbs. My goal is 150, my surgeon never set a goal. My 1yr checkup is tomorrow, so I'll see what he says. I too am okay with where I am (164), IF and boy that's a big IF I can maintain. I have made an effort to up my calories and am now eating about 700-850 per day - I've actually lost 2 lbs since doing that??? CONFESSION - I'm sure if I exercised the rest of the weight would come off. If you know what might motivate me let me know, but honestly I don't want to! Micha 288-164-150

Hey Paula, My weight loss has really slowed. Officially I've lost 8 pounds in the last 2 months, but I seem to have 2 to 3 pounds that come and go at will. For example Friday I was 174. Saturday I was 170.5. Sunday I was 172.5. Today I was 172. If I didn't weigh daily and caught myself on one of the upswings it might look like I hadn't lost anything. BTW 170.5 is the lowest I've been. Working out really jumpstarted my weight loss, but lately I've been doing a lot of strenght training and I think the added muscle may counteract some of the weight loss.

I lost 3 pounds last month . At support group the coordinator brings her scale and I have been going by that. I asked her what the average loss for 11 mo out is and she said 3-5 pounds a month. I hope I haven't stopped yet. I would like to lose at least another 20 pounds. That would make me happy. I don't think I would ever get below 200 so if I ever did then I would be I've been trying to do some walking but don't get out for as long as I would like. Sandy

ok... this is incredible... I lost another 2 lbs, when I got up this morning... ????? That's 4 lbs in 2 days... and that is all I have lost since 8/14... just plain WEIRD!!!! Especially since last night I splurged and had 1/3 of a Margarita, at dinner... GO FIGURE???!!! Tanya 358/214/185 ONLY 29 LBS to GO!!!!!!!!

I did quite a bit of walking this past weekend, but need to up my excersize, I'm not too good in that department, due to back paid & arthritis STILL.... I eat protien first. If I crave something, it usually means mom body need it, like fruit, a vegetable, or meat. I STILL cant eat very much. I cant even eat 1 drumstick of chicken. I think it's because I don't stuff myself. Yesterday, I got some potato bacon soup with some cheese, but only ate about 1/4 cup of it, and 2 crackers, and I was full. I'm not good at bringing my lunch so I go out, and get things. I like salad with meat on it, deli meat & cheese, neat, pico de gallo(taco without tortilla), and beans... Not the greatest..but it works... excersize is DEFENITELY my downfall.... If only I could be in less pain... Tanya 358/214/185
