Plastics surgery Date!!!
Hi - I just wanted to share that I got my plastic surgery date for October 18th today. I am having a BR and Panniculectomy. My weight loss has slowed ALOT and am just hoping to lose another 11 pounds prior to surgery. After surgery I should be pretty close to goal - or maybe at my new goal .
Does any other September re-birthdates have surgery dates coming up??

Congratulations on getting your date!
The surgeon that I want will not even meet with you until you are over one year out and won't do the surgery until you are at least 18 months out. So I have my initial consultation on Dec 1st and then we'll see. I'm self-pay, so I also have to be sure to get the $$ together!
Keep us posted!

I'm not planning on any plastics in the near future, but my surgeon won't even let his patients see or think about plastics until we're 18 months out and the weight loss has stabilized and stayed even for several months. There's always a little weight gain afterwards, so, they want it to be stable so that the TT isn't too tight or too lose if weight gain/loss happens.
I won't need a TT, but would like a BL and my bat wings done. I don't see it happening anytime soon, though, as Insurance won't cover it. Well, maybe the BL.
But, congrats to you!

Hi Shannon, great, good for you. I'm in the same boat as several of the others, the surgeon that I want won't consider it until 18 mos and you have to have stablized by then. Also, since I'll be self pay I'm not in a hurry right now. I think I have a knee replacement in my sooner future!! Oh well,
love

Hi Shannon - I'll keep my fingers crossed that you are approved immediately!!! For some very lucky reason my panni. was approved very quickly. I realize most docs want you to wait until we are 18 months out. But my weight loss is very slow at this point and the surgeon feels like even if I do not loose that much more the results will not be impacted by losing 10-15 pounds more
Good Luck!!!
