Boys back to school yesterday maybe things will calm down and I can refocus on me. I have gained 10 pounds back
How many people here drink diet coke. I started drinking one a day. I was drinking over a 12 pack of beer a night. My stomach is still small. I dont think it got strecthed. Is it really true that carbonated drinks can stretch your stomach. I hear so many different storys on this. When I started drinking beer. Now I dont. But when I did. I told my Dr Flat out that I was drinking Vodka and it was making me really foolish and ask him if I coujd drink beer. He said the only problem he had with it was empty calories. How many of you drink diet Carbon drinks how many do you drink a day. And is your stomach still small? and how long have you been drinking carbon drinks.
Thanks
Barb
My doc says no carbonation wont stretch the stomach he said we would get sick first ?
I dont drink soda at all I just dont crave it. I do have an occasional beer but keep it to 2 or three over the course of several hours if that. I do like bloody marys and an occasional margarita but those have quite a bit of sugar.
Mostly its jus****er. I do drink coffee in the morning two to three cups and thats the caffeine limit.
The doc did say a soda a day was ok (diet) but he said you may not tolerate the carbonation but open it and let it sit for a few before drinking it. I just dont want to get into that habit again.

Hi, I haven't had any soft drinks since surgery. The reason for me, I try to drink lots of water and I just don't have the desire to drink soft drinks if I'm full of water. I don't know that your drinking diet coke is awful, I'm not sure, I'm sort of like Micha if that's the worse you're doing, so be it!! But if you want to stop, why don't you increase your water and see if that helps.
My friend Paula hasn't checked in on this yet, but I am willing to bet her answer is going to be 'don't buy it'. Which was her advice to me about graham crackers and cool whip!! Works for me!!

there are such mixed reviews on carbonation - my doctor isn't thrilled with soda or beer - I think it's mostly for the empty calories but I'm not completely sure...
before surgery I was drinking 2 - 3 cans of soda a day...I stopped 1 week b4 surgery - I haven't had any in over a year now. well that's not completely true I took a sip of my daughters while we were on vacation and it was horrible...I didn't even like the taste anymore!
I just don't think it's worth it to drink soda - we've worked way too hard to get to where we are!
