Almost a year out and old habits have snuck back in. Well, I guess I kicked the door wide open and let them in. I know I am responsible for my actions and have to tighten my belt and get back down to the nitty gritty. I just felt the need to confess. I do realize that I have been given a gift and wandered off the road but I'm ready to get back on and find myself again! Thanks for listening! Mayra McAllen, Texas

Start over... yep protine water and walking I went clear back to the stage 1 babyfood 2 times a day and then I ate one meal a day with lots of protine and lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks and I was avraging 9 lb a month b4. It's not weather or not we fall off the wagon (we all do) that matters, it's about weather we lay there in self pitty and loathing or get up brush off and get back on the wagon. The nice part is knowing as son as we fall off the wagon it stops and waits for us...I have never heard of anyone chasing down a wagon, or waiting for the next wagon, just dusting off and getting back on. Jump back on that wagon and get movin again...you know what you want and need now go get it! Big Hugs, Shel

Hi Mayra, well I just finished reading your profile. First may I say little girl that you are beautiful!! Oh and I took salsa dancing too !! It was fun. Now I'm taking swing! Your pictures are amazing and you have come such a long way. It hasn't been easy has it? To those who say this is the easy way out, please, give me a break. This is anything but the easy way out. But it does give us a leg up on getting a good start on losing some lbs and that is encouraging. I remember when I used to diet before (you too I'm sure) and I would lose 10 lb, 15, and maybe 20 or more, and then the gradual regain. Or in some bad moments the fast regain. I could gain weight on a weekend everything I'd lost in a few months. But that's not going to happn to us. We have a special 'tool' and we know how to use it. We just have to always pay attention, not to get ****y with this. Okay, now that I've said all that I'm going to be very blunt here for you honey. I think I might have a thought or two about why you seem to be struggling right now. It's Hector. Sometimes we build up in our minds how we think someone is going to react to how we look now, and it can be a let down if they don't. I've had it happen myself, so I know. This visit when I went to San Diego and saw my mom it was awesome, but the first time which was in March, it was a bit disappointing. I was totally bummed. So I think that might have something to do with your struggles right now. Plus of course the fact that he is in Iraq is enough to stress anyone out. We're here for you Mayra. Please come back more often, post to us, get the support you need from us, and let us get the support that you can in turn give us!! We all need each other. This sounds lame to say, but hang in there You'll be fine. You are so young and beautiful and have such a nice full life ahead of you without the cumbersome pounds that you've had. I always say that I've wasted so much time and energy on empty diets, but I don't mind at all putting any time and energy into this program, because it works - as long as we remember to do the things we are suppose to do. The analogy of the little wagon that Shel gave was perfect (she's wonderful!!) and something we all need to remember. take care of yourself, and say kind things to yourself, and remember, we can only do this for ourselves, no one else, and truly no one else matters in this but ourselves. Sounds selfish doesn't it, but I believe it. End of lecture. love donna

Mayra, I think we all went threw that. We know what we need to do !!!!! You will be fine. This surgery is only a tool. We are all starting to see this more and more as we move to our 1 year aniversary !!!!! When I get like that I just excercise extra hard. And start shoving protein down me. That keeps me full. Ham or cheese.. Then It seems like my stomach gets full really fast and longer. I also am a yougart freak.... I love that stuff. barb

Hi Mayra, Just read this post. We all, from time to time, fall off of the wagon, but, it's easy to get back on. Like Shelly said, go back to basics to reset your mindset. I've also done this and it works. But most of all, Stop beating yourself up over it. Just continue on, start over and work at it. When you feel like you're going to cheat with something not so good for you, divert your attention to something else. Go take a walk, exercise or clean the house. Anything to distract yourself from thinking of that food. Good luck, and, keep coming back, that's what we're all here for. paula
