I have a question...
For those of you willing, I really need to see where I should be at food-wise. Could we start posting what our meals and snacks consist of daily, starting tomorrow? That would really help me. I read alot on low-carb sites but it doesn't really count because we've had the surgery and supposedly can't ingest as much. Purdy please? I know I'm a pain but I am trying to get as much knowledge under my belt as possible. Who knows, it may help someone else here too.
Thank you,
Kelly
Of course Kelly. I am not a good sample though cause I don't eat much. In fact my husband wants me to call my doctor cause he thinks I'm not eating that much. So it will help me too to see if I eating as much as everyone or not.
Now Sundays are usually a bad day for me to post. I'll try, but if not tomorrow than Monday for sure. Do you want amounts??
love

I am trying the spark people web site to get new ideas. For a while I was doing the protein shake in the morning but wasn't very full. Switched over to the protein bar and found I was gaining weight. ( I had read on line were other people were having thing problem) it also had me craving other "candies". Now I want to try and do this was all food's as recommended by my DR.
I would be interested to see were other people are here.

Thanks for replies Donnas!
Donna #1, if you want to post amounts, that would be great, if it's too much trouble, don't bother, I understand. I'm just looking for ideas.
Donna #2, I LOVE spark people and am on there alot. They have so much info and their ways are alot more reasonable than what's in my mind. They recommend a rounded diet including fruits and veggies, ect. I keep trying to go only protein, i.e. meat, cheese and eggs. *sigh* It doesn't work for me. When people say no bad carbs, I tend to stay away from beans, complex carbs like whole grains/breads, etc. as well, and I know this just isn't the smart way to eat. It's really rather frustrating, ya know? So, one day, I'll eat the traditional egg and bacon, protein city, then the next day, I'll feel, by golly I want, I NEED a bowl of cereal. Granted it's a small bowl with a splash of milk and sweetener and it's the special K with strawberries, but I feel like I've committed a mortal sin! That can set me in the mode to mess up because of guilt later in the day. Sorry, I know I'm venting, just reviewing my day. SO, thank you for your menus. They give me an idea of how real people eat and I'm not that far off after all.
Thanks a bunch guys!
Hugs,
Kelly
Hi Donna,
Just go to sparkpeople.com . There, you start a free account, simple. Then, there are all sorts of things you can do. You can click on Meal Planner on the left side of the screen and log in everything you eat for meals and snacks and it's real simple. It's lists are extensive and if there is something (like Slimfast protein drink) you can't find, just log in the basic stats and save it under favorites for next time. It'll tell you how many calories, fat, protein, carbs, etc. you have logged for the day. Also, you can choose lots of different goals like walking 30 min. a day, etc. and log them on another tab at the left of the front page. There are alot of message boards you can join in on and you get "spark points" for everything you do...what can you DO with these points?? Well... I don't know! but I like it anyway. Anyway, you'll see, it's nice. It gives you different stages pertaining to your certain goals. Like mine says I need to eat between 1250 and 1500 cals. a day to lose 2# a week. So on and so on. Check it out.
Take care,
Kelly
