Anyone thinking Plastic Surgery at this point?
I had a plastic surgery consult last night. I know we're all about 11 months out, but I have been at goal since 10 months. I am solid in my exercise but not excessive so I believe that I can maintain this pace for many years to come. My diet is consistent and very easy to maintain. My family is very supportive and I'm financially prepared. Anyone else looking to plastics at this stage in the game? Anyone have any concerns or thoughts on me looking to have my work done this soon? I am shooting for a tummy tuck and truck lift (butt and thight lift) in a simultaneous surgery somewhere around November or December. Am I nuts or jumping the gun? I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks everyone!!

Shauna,
I think it is wonderful that you are at goal, have been there for over a month and feel that you can keep your exercise/eating routines steady....I applaud you and am very supportive in you looking at surgery--especially with you thinking about it in the next few months. I think that you have used your head and thought this through. I also have looked into plastic surgery, but I have not stopped losing and am still a good 75 lbs from my goal...I wanted to go on and have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to see where I stood and have some suggestions to get me through the next year, but they will not even see me until I have stopped losing for 3 months.
Good luck and make sure to post before and after pics!!!

I am also waiting on insurance approval for my breast reduction and pannilectomy (tummy tuck). I surpassed my surgeon's weight goal for me a long time ago (170), and am only 15 lbs away from my personal goal. I figure I should get pretty close to that once they remove all the excess skin. I realize we are only 11 months out, but I think if we are at or very near goal it doesn't matter. At this stage, I can easily maintain my weight without losing anymore. In fact, once I reach 140 I won't let myself lose anymore because that is a good, healthy weight for me.

Shauna,
YOU GO GIRL!! Congrats on being at goal. I am about 5-8 pounds away and have had one PS consult and am scheduled for another Sept 19th the soonest I could get in. I am looking at surgery around December and although would love for insurance to pay, am ready to take on the financial burdeon if they say no to: Tummy tuck, breast lift and maybe by spring butt and thigh lift. maybe inner thighs too eventually. but tummy and boobs first!! I live in Germany and am finding most PS here will only do one procedure at a time. I am hoping for tummy tuck and Breast lift at same time, but probably not.
I think we are all intelligent beings and know our bodies well. If you are at goal and have been there a while...I think it is good you KNOW you are ready for the next step. I think 3-6 months stable weight is all that is required so best wishes. Jacqueline
I don't think you're nuts at all. You're at goal so go for it. why not. I still have another 50 pounds to go but I'm already thinking a bout it and asking people who had it done in this area how their surgeon was.
And even though I'm not at goal I am seriously thinking about having some liposuction done until then.
so go for it. You deserve it.

The plastic surgeon that has the best reputation in town and is the only one recommended by the surgeon that did my RNY, will not consult with you til you are at least one year out (already got my appt for Dec 1, since he was booked solid til then) and he won't operate til you are at least 18 months. I'm kinda glad of his policy, because I don't have the money yet!
