Me ?? Problem with shopping ???
Now that I can, I can't find anything I like ! Who else is having this problem ?? I went in to Fashion Bug yesterday and looked around. Couldn't find anything I liked. Now when these sizes were not available to me I saw the cutest things. No matter where I go I now find cute things I would like to wear but they are in sizes too big ! Hubby and I are invited to a cook out at someone's house from hubby's Church so I was looking for something appropriate but can't find anything. I still have some "big" clothes in my closet but I'm afraid to get rid of them. Anyone finding the same delema ?
Sandy
I was having the same problem, especially as I get to more common size. When I first started shopping it seemed that I liked everything in the larger sizes. It took my husband to come shopping with me to get me to try on and really look at cloths of a different style than I was used to. Everything in the smaller sizes seemed to tight fitting or low cut. When actually I put them on the really did look nice. I guess we are so used to covering up. We have to train ourself in what really does look nice on our newly shaped bodies. -- My biggest fear was to be "that" women in the too tight, roll showing outfit. Look around and try something on that is totally not you- see if you are changing.
I used to love fashion bug but I am finding that the cloths are more trendy than traditional. Were I am spending a lot of money updating my wardrobe I want really traditional longer lasting pieces. I love Kohls- but only when I can get the stuff on sale. Their regular prices can be a bit steep for me. I don't want to drop $50.00 on a pair of slacks that I hope wont fit next season. The good part of needing the cloths now is that the pieces go on sale usually when I need them the most.
good luck and have fun..

I agree that we are so use to shopping as big women we dont try on things that are more flattering than what they use to be. I use to never try on things at the store. I now try everything and things i look at on the hanger sometimes look super on and i would have never guessed. I have a hard time still steering to those big sizes its like its ingrained in my brain. Take someone with you and have them pick out stuff for you to try on sometimes someone elses perspective is better than ours right now (or at least mine anyway) having that body image issue thing going on is not easy lol.

I agree with someone else who said, try Kohl's, on sale. A lot of the places I thought I would like to shop, the clothes are too old for me (Talbot's) or too young (Fashion Bug, American Eagle, even Old Navy for a lot of stuff). Kohl's is in the middle, and the prices are reasonable relative to department stores. I've also had some success with Penney's and Coldwater Creeks (online if there's not a store near you, but they are pretty pricey -- although they have an 80% off sale running right now).
And ditch the fat clothes, you are never going to need them again!!!!!!! Good luck!
Hi Sandy, I am always nervous that someone will say 'just cause they make it in your size doesn't mean you should wear it'!!! I love bohemian style, trendy styles, and I hate to say, but more youthful styling. I have to be really careful I don't look like I'm tryiing to be 50!!!
Go buy yourself some crop/capris for the cookout and a cute top!! You'll knock 'em dead!!
love
