ok who wants to give me some motivation to get off my butt and excercise I really have to be honest and I have not excercised in 2 months. Seems my personal life has really taken over and I don't make the time to go and do it. I think about going but I just don't. HELPPP!!! someone kick me!!! ::::

Michelle, Well, I am not sure about a kick, but.... know the last pounds are the hardest to get off and increasing exercise and intensity of exercise is the only way to do it!! Get up, get active... you will feel better too. Anytime I reach a platea and stop loosing weight..I check protein( am I getting enough), water, at least 64-80 oz a day and intense exercise. I run 5 times a week and swim two times a week. Running 4 miles just feels good to me at this point. In fact, was sick Monday and decided not to run and just felt worse I think for not running. But it doesn't have to be running. It can be any exercise. Challenge yourself with a prize if you follow through on your goal. What really got me going regularly was in April when we did 60 miles for the month. I really felt like I wanted to accomplish that goal. SOoooooooooooo, Set a goal with a nice reward at the end of it And remember that the surgery was JUST a tool. Lifestyle changes got to happen to continue to make this work and exerise is a part of that. Trust me>>>> I really hate the whole running thing.... but I always feel better afterward and since I do it really early in the morning, I feel like I have accomplished on major thing even if I sit on my butt the rest of the day...couch potatoe is OK after I have done the work. I hope this was helpful. I cannot believe I am giving exercise advise: I AM THE ORIGINAL COUCH POTATOE!!!! Best wishes for increased motivation...By the way...Did I say I was about 5 POUNDS FROM GOAL!! That is also a great motivator!! Jacqueline

Since we're being honest....I've not exercised all summer long either. Except for a few walks and a couple times in a pool where I could do leg kicks and arm work. BUT, I'm totally LAZY and hate to do it. I find any excuse (the kids are home for the summer, it's too hot, I'm too tired, I've got an ulcer, I'm on a liquid diet so I'm too weak...you get the pix)... I am going next week to sign up for two water classes at my Y. We are members and pay 59 bucks a month and never use it. I just found out that all of the fitness classes and water classes are free with my membership now, so, I'm getting the kids on the bus, will have breakfast and will GO. I'm making myself. I have to. Some of my skin is hanging (not too bad) and needs to tone. My muscle tone is gone too, and I read that with rapid weight loss, your body will literally EAT your muscles, including your heart, to find energy. I've got to get my muscle tone back...This scared me. Think of the grandchild that will be here in less than 9 months. You'll have to be in shape to push that stroller and help care for him/her! And, once it's here, you'll get lots of exercise pushing that stroller. Did you know that you burn more calories pushing the stroller than not pushing one? Start off now with a walk after dinner. Bob and I did this week with the kids. We have a good neighborhood to walk in, it's like a big oval, just about one mile around. We go twice. The kids ride their bikes so that we can keep up our pace. It's really been fun. Bob and I get to chat, and the kids are having fun too. Plus, the neighbors tell us both how wonderful we're looking!!!!! Try to do something slowly. Take a short walk, about 15 minutes. Don't overdo it. And, you won't defeat yourself by getting sore and not want to go back. Go back to baby steps. Do it for the baby! paula

since the start of this journey I had become and exercise junkie. I worked out on the elliptical 50 minutes a day. For the last 3 weeks I haven't been doing it. Very important client meetings-no time, Vacation etc you name it and it had an excuse. When I came back from vacation, I started up again and boy do I miss the rush. I was starting to feel sluggish and lazy again. It scared me enough to know that exercise has to be part of the solution. It is really hard to get started but once you do you will want to do more and more. I started hockey about 11 weeks ago- it was once a week skills. I know am looking for more ice time. If you find the right thing it should be fun, so if one thing doesn't work keep looking there is something out there for everyone. donna

I've been trying to get my walking in but grandson doesn't want to ride in the stroller now he wants to walk. Today I went to the rec center and walked the track then went in the weight room. I tried the ab thing by Tony Little and was surprised that I could do it. Told hubby maybe since the baby sleeps till 9:30 anymore maybe I will go up there while he is still asleep....Hubby just and said " yeah right ! " Sandy
