I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!!! I am happy but full of mixed emotions she just graduated from high school 2 months ago, not married etc., I know I will love it I am just full of emotions. She is on bed rest because of the babys weak heartbeat until thursday when she can see the OB dr. I know this doesn't have anything to do with WLS but it effects my eating when I get stressed out!

Gulp, is right! What a surprise! It is what it is...things happen. Try not to get too anxious or uptight over this. Make sure she gets her vitamins and proper nutrition...and lots of love. She may be feeling like she let you down and herself as well. Try not to eat out of this stress...just think what the outcome will be...a beautiful baby. Congrats! paula

Hi Michelle, I take it this is your first grandchild? Well congratulations! I remember my first little grandchild, a boy who is now 17!! It's a really neat time, to have a little grandbaby. And yes, the conditions are probably not as you would have preferred, but they are what they are! I hope that the father can be involved, I think it's so important for that, and can give your daughter support (emotional). love donna

Thanks for the support, no the father will not be in the picture but her boyfriend that is now ( she got pregnant before she met him and is 7 weeks preg) wants to take care of her and the baby forever. I told him its early in there relationship for him to take on such a big job but he said she has touched a part of him that no one has ever done and he wants to be with her for the rest of her and baby's life even if its not his. IT's so hard and so much to take in at once. I have given my daughter so much support but shes pushing me away and I just keep coming back at her with more love and then she gives in :: I am not going away and shes just got to realize that.

Congratulations! My first grandchild was born in April 2004 and he is a big part of why I took the leap and had this surgery... Nothing like a grandbaby...Lordy, I love that child!!!

Congratulations ! First time I heard I was going to be a grandma I was 5 months pregnant myself. Talk about a shocking moment ! Things will turn out ok. Just give her all the support you can and tell her " I'm a yoyo every time you push me away I will be right back !" Sandy
