no thyroid meds

At my recent dr. appt. my iron was low. He also said I didn't need to take my thyroid meds since it had begun to swing the other way to hyper ( i was getting headaches after taking my levoxyl). He had me on 100, and thought he would just lower it then, not stop it completely. So, I feel ok after a week of not having it and just having the iron supplement. He said we will check it again in three months. I don't know. It doesn't seem right to not be taking any... has anybody else been hypo and then after surgery not have to take any anymore and stayed off of meds?

I was not on any meds pre surgery. But most people I have met or know end up off 99% of the medication that they started with. It is amazing. My mom who was just banded has cut her insulin to next to nothing at this time and she hasn't even gotten her first fill. We didn't expect that to happen. If you feel good and the Dr. recommended it then it sounds good. If you start to not feel right, I wouldn't wait the three months though, I would call right away.... donna
