Bragging
Yesterday, I stopped at Old Navy on my way home from work. I bought a pair of size 12 jeans over the weekend without trying them on--thinking they would be tight--when I tried them on they weren't and I realized I could probably wear a 10. So I stopped at Old Navy and tried some on. AND the size 10 fit!!!!!!
I came up during the tight jeans 70's and with weight issues always wore tight jeans. I usually buy a size smaller than I wear in dress pants. So the 10s are snug...but not so snug that zipping them was difficult. I don't think I ever wore a 10 in my entire life. I went straight from the "chubbies" children clothes to Layne Bryant.
I never even dreamed about getting into a size 10 anything. I'm just totally blown away.
On the slightly concerning side--the scale was up this morning--I'm up 3 pounds from my all time low last week. I've been doing some serious weight training at the gym and know I'm building muscle, but I also don't believe you can put on 3 pounds of muscle in a week. I'm a bit concerned, but not panicking yet. I'm getting smaller.
Thanks for listening to me brag!
CV,
Yippee!!! A size 10. I don't think that I'll ever get into 10's, but, stranger things have happened. I'm happy right now in an 16-18W from a 30/32W last time this year!
As far as the weight gain goes. Last night I was watching that new Bravo show about the gym trainer and she was just telling an obese client that even working out for one week will make you gain weight. The woman changed her eating habits and still gained weight because she was gaining muscle. The trainer said that she'll see the scale go up a bit, but will see her jeans just fall off of her!
Don't fret! Those size 10's will soon need to be traded in for size 8's

hey CV
I am right there with you and that damn scale!
the more weight training you do the faster the scale will go up (to start)...you are building muscle - the same thing is happening to me...I went out and hired a personal trainer and since I've been working with her I feel my clothes getting looser but the scale isn't going down (it always fluctuates somewhere around 2 lbs in either direction )
Good job on the size 10's!! I WILL get there .. it's my own personal goal. I am in a 14 now (some 12's depending on the cut and brand) but my goal for myself is a 10 and I would like to see it by the time I have to buy fall clothes! by the way..I love Old Navy - I was never able to shop there (except for my daughters) before all this weight loss and now I can and I love it!
have a great day...and brag away...you DESERVE it!
Linda
And brag you should!! You look amazing. I would have thought a size 8 for you!! You really look great. And when I saw you you had on that skinny little top tucked in your jeans no less!!
Wow!!
For the up pounds - probably water retention! Or muscle. Especially since you are so good on meals, and no snacking, you know it's not anything related to food. You are right not to panic - you're doing so great Courtney.
I sent you instructions on how to do your picture, so do that so we can all see your pretty face!!
love

Congratulations... I like you am between the 12 and 10 stage. I still have 14's that I am holding on to but realized that they really don't fit well.
Don't worry to much about the scale. It it goes up and stays there then just make sure you work on it. Muscle is much more than fat so feel good.
Keep up the bragging its good hear when things are going well for everyone.

Courtney,
This is what it is all about. Congradulations and of course brag with us. SIZE 10!! Amazing isn't it? I am between 21 and 10's depending on brand etc. also, yes, weight training does affect that scale. Hang in there and see yourself get tight and need a size 8. I am amazed at how inches fall away while weight creeps up a bit( My own experience with weight training!) YIKES, I think I am in trouble but remember muscle weighs more than fat!! So Cangradulations on 3 pounds of muscle!! Jacqueline
