Anyone have any ideas?

I have to be honest with you, I have no idea what happened today with my endoscopy and colonoscopy. My doctor came in afterwards and told me that everything looks great as far as my pouch etc, but that he was not able to even get to my colon. He said he gave me 3x the amount of anesthesia that he normally gives other people, but he couldn't get to it. I was pretty drugged up at the time I talked to him and there was noone in the room with me to ask questions. I am not sure if I was in a lot of pain so he gave me more anesth. or if maybe he tried so long to get to the colon that he used more anesth. By the time I woke up tonight the office was closed so I couldn't call. I am a little concerned so I thought maybe some of you might have some ideas? Anyone ever hear of this happening? He said he wants to see me in his office on the 9th of Aug. so he mucst not be in any real rush to see me. I will call the office tomorrow to see what is going on. If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Christine

Christine, sorry I have absolutely no ideas, and I don't know if we have any nurses or medical people on this board. You might go to the main board and post But certainly I know you will call first thing in the morning, but I just don't know. go to the main board, they have so much knowledge there love donna

Sorry I can't help you.. I would just call him again and ask him to repeat what he told you while you were drugged... I hate when doctor's do that!

Of course since I needed to get a hold of him he is in surgery all day on Wednesday's and not in his office. I did try the main board, but I only got one response and questions don't stay on the first page very long so usually I don't get many responses. I did go on the chat board and noone there had any ideas, but one guy did joke with me and tell me that it means"that I am a tight a@@" I thought that was kind of funny. I do imagine that it isn't anything too awful serious or he would have had me go back to the office quicker than 8/9, but I imagine he will want to try something else or else he wouldn't have made a follow up appt. I will let everyone know when I hear something. IF I dont' hear from his office by tomorrow afternoon I will call them back. Thanks for trying to help, Christine

I'm a little confused. I can understand how he might not be able to find it with endoscopy, but a colonoscopy is going in the 'Out' door, so to speak. The colon is RIGHT THERE. How could he not find it? I hope you get some answers soon. --BT
