Water Loading Question

My doctor advises me to stick to three meals a day - no snacking. My question is this: If I were to have a protein drink made with water, not milk, mid-morning and mid-afternoon, is that considered a meal - or just more of my water? I do count the water I use in the drink as part of my 64 oz. of water per day.

Hi Pamela, I think you'd count the protein drinks as snacks...cause they're made with water, you can count them towards your water. This is no****er loading, though. Water loading is when you drink (actually gulp) water as fast and as much as you can up to fifteen minutes before your meal to fill up your stomach to make you feel and stay fuller after a meal. My surgeon also recommends only 3 meals a day and no drinking for 2 hours after a meal. When I can start drinking, to sip water and then rapidly drink the water to load. paula

Hi Paula, I'm hearing more of water loading, but my question is, doesn't it hurt to drink real fast!! I always have to drink slow. I want to try 3 meals and water load! love donna

My doctor gave the same instructions, but when I do protein drinks I do them between meals. I count them towards my water. Now that I am able to eat almost the amount of protein I need at meals I don't do as many protein drinks. Water loading does help a lot....but it is drinking a lot of water a little while before you eat.
