wow less than 10 months out and maintaining already. congratulations. I keep dreaming of 143. It is a number that actually came to me long before the surgery. I hope to reach it by 18 months...... Can you believe that you actually need to gain 5 lbs..... donna

Hi all, i am 5'5' and weigh 165 and have been hovering there for about a month...mostly up a few lbs then down again. i want to loose another 10 lbs at least and finally went to Fitday.com...WOW, Some of the things that have carbs in them were a big surprise and now I can understand those last ten pounds. I would love to actually loose 15 more, but really 10 will be gooddd. I am not grazing , but maybe I am and just call it snacking? I eat three small meals a day and three small nutritious snacks a day, cheese or milk or something protein. But who knew pretzels had carbs? I must be the dumbest person about foods. I am still an exercise fanatic: Run 3 miles four times a week, swim laps 2 xs a week and have also added weight training 2 x's a week. Like the runners high!! That's all for now...J

My surgery was September 28, 2005, and so far I've lost 104 pounds from my highest weight of 256 a month prior to surgery. The day after surgery I weighed 250. I am 5'7" and this morning I weighed 152. My goal is 145 - seven more to go! I averaged about 2 pounds a wee****il my 9th month began. I pretty much just hovered at 154 during the month of June. Now the scale is slowly beginning to move by tenths of a pound. I hope to reach my goal by Sept. 28th, my one year anniversay. My apron probably weighs 20 pounds, but I'll turn 55 July 26th, and that combined with the fact that I'd have to pay out of pocket for the plastics just makes it not an option for me. Oh well, I buy spandex panties and that helps alot. Most people wouldn't know I had that skin hanging in front. But you always think, Gee, what if I didn't have that hanging there? I'd weigh 20 pounds less! I am however, fortunate to have pretty good arms, so it all evens out. My pictures aren't up to date, and I promise to try and get some recent photos posted on my profile soon.

I wanted to chime in along with Mandy... I'm not tall (5'6"), but with that, I'd say that your body structure will also play into how you look. A lot. My lowest weight (I'm pregnant and bouncing around a little) has been 149. I was thinking that I wanted to be around 145 and my goal was 150 for the most part. At 150, I'd prefer not getting to 145! I never thought that would come out of my mouth. I have a large bone structure though, and my arms look VERY thin. I'm definitely getting the comments about being "too skinny", etc. Which honestly, I think is only because people have a really warped sense of "normal". Anyway, so like with Mandy realizing that she might not look good at the lower weight, you may find that also. My first thought when I saw your height and the weight, was to think how skinny you'd look! But really, that's based on how I'd see myself, with my bones... If you have a fairly slight build, you'd probably look awesome! So I say just see how it goes and how it feels. Amy

9-13-05 5'2" 282/161/145 I know 145 sounds heavy for 5'2", but I was really happy 30-some years ago at that weight...if I get lower, that'll be OK too. I am losing about 6 lbs/month for last 3 months..
