What happens now?
Well, I am now 9 months out and I have lost 120 pounds. You would think I would be happy with that. I had another bad flair up with my back about 2 weeks ago and have been in bed and to the ER. Pretty much I have been in bed until today. I have lost the same 4 pounds twice in the last 2 weeks. I have never had this problem before(since surgery). I am guessing I am at the end of my honeymoon stage. I still have weight to lose and I am so afraid I am not going to do it. I went to PT today for the first time and the girl there told me that I am very low tone. In other words I have no muscle. It was really a shock to me, not that I can't see the pounds of skin hanging from my body, but I figured all this exercise I have been doing has been for nothing.Granted lately I haven't done much but my god I must have gone 100's of miles on the eleptical machine. I can't join a gym beause of my back. This really was a huge bummer for me!!! Am I done losing weight and will I ever be able to be tone? Does anybody have any suggestions?
Christine
Christine,
You look great in your photos. You must have some muscle to look that good. Your not done losing. You have lost 120 pounds. You look wonderful. I hope you feel better soon. I really dont think you wasted your time working out. Imagine if you didnt work out. Look at your pictures. Stop being so hard on yourself. Look how far you have came. Your doing great !!!!
Hugs

Ellipticals are good for cardio, but you also need weight training to build muscle tone. If you can go buy a swiss ball (they are about $20 at Wal-Mart), I can send you some exercises to do that will help to tone your body, but which support your back. I, too, have back issues, and so I have to make sure that I do things to strengthen my back without throwing it out in the process.
