POLL-WHAT IS YOUR LOSING CYCLE?
Hello all.
I thought that it would be interesting to take a poll of what all of our losing cycles are. For losing weight AND losing inches. I think it helps to see other people who have similar losing trends as ourselves. Do you lose all month long? If you are a woman does it depend on your TOM? Do you lose pounds and inches at the same time? I really enjoy hearing others "losing trends" Please play along, and if you are a grad or an "old azz" pull up those memories for us who are still "works in progress" Here are my trends and I hope you all have a great weekend.

I never seem to lose pounds and inches at the same time(unless it is TOM water weight loss)
I usually lose for 1-2 weeks after my TOM, then I lose inches rapidly for a week, but don't lose anymore pounds. During my TOM week I gain anywhere from 4-7 pounds, and usually 3 days after my cycle ends, the water weight goes away and I am left with my original "starting weight"
Looks like I am going to have to start my record all over again. My computer crashed and I lost all my info. At least I have my beginning measurements and weight so I can go from there. I think I have been losing an average of 2 pounds a week. It may not be a lot but I am happy it is going down and not up.

My pattern has been to lose weight rapidly over maybe a two week period, and then stall anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks. It doesn't seem related to my TOM, although ironically my anniversary is always right then so my official weigh'ins always include monthly bloat. But I weigh daily, so I see the ups and downs.
I have been working out more regularly the last couple of months, and have noticed a BIG change in size. With only a 2lb loss in the last three weeks, I have gone from a size 18 to a size 14 just from toning up.
I'm the opposite of you (very short instead of very tall), so smaller weights still spell bigger sizes. I'm averaging about 175 these days, and the surgeon's goal weight for me was 118. I can only imagine what I'll look like at weights like that. The last time I weighed 118, I was ten years old.

I honestly can't say that my body has any specific losing cycle. some weeks I lose and some I don't...this weight loss thing is very frustrating! but as long as I am losing that's all I care about...I seem to lose much slower than other people on the board.
I stepped on the scale this morning and I am now down 103 pounds (surgery 9/9).. I am now a member of the century club but I feel as tho it's taken me forever compared to others...
I measure monthly at the gym so I can't even tell you how that' s working for me
my clothes are MUCH smaller than they were when I started this journey and I feel so much healthier than I did! to me...that's all that matters

Yup, I lose weight for 2 weeks a month. The next two weeks nothing. I don't measure but I do find that my clothes get looser even though the scale isn't moving. I also seem to gain 1/2 lb at the end of the losing cycle . I talked to the surgeon about this and he said it's normal to lose this way, and even though it's the norm every month when I stop losing, I think I'm never going to lose again .

The only real trend that I have noticed is that after a loosing cycle...which has no relationship with my TOM--I gain 2 pounds. Then I sit there for a while and then the loosing starts again. It is the 3 steps forward, two steps back thing. I was down to 185 last week but up to 187 yesterday and today. It happens so often that it doesn't bother me as much as it used too....excpet I really did like 185 much better than 187.
