Extended Release pills

In one thread posted the other day regarding extended release pills, I mentioned that my surgeon didn't allow them. Well, I phoned my surgeon on Friday and asked and they said that they are not allowed during the first three months after surgery because we can't cut up or crush the extented release meds and it may have been too big to swallow whole. It is now allowable to take them at this stage out... Not to worry. paula

My surgeon recommends staying away from extended release pills completely after surgery because they do not stay in your system long enough to be fully absorbed..
