Never EVER believe them when they give you a time frame in ER... NEVER NEVEr NEVER!!!
But despite the wait, I glad everything has worked out and he is on the mend. Take care of him and you too.. Waiting can be just as exhausting as being the patient...

I will be one yr 9/14 and what a busy birthday month for me...My REAL B-day is 9/18. I have concert tickets to see Journey on the 7th, Lynard Skynnard and the Allman Bros on the 13th. Was SUPPOSED to go to New Orleans for a confernece on 14-17th but thats been scratched... Harvest festival on the 17 and 18th and one year followup with doc on the 22nd. I have about 20 pounds to go to reach docs goal of 150 but I am not sweating it... I am healthier and happier than I was a year ago. I actually jogged up the steps at work the other day and didn't have a stroke!!!! So... congrats to all my september siblings... congrats on your efforts and your losses and may year #2 but just as wonderful and exciting at #1!!!

For whatever reason!! Sure, we all had high hopes of being like the others who lost more in 6 months than have the whole time since surgery. But hey, ask yourself these questions:
Can you walk further? Can climb the stairs with an oxygen tank? Even though you have fallen off the right foods, an d are prone to go crazy once in a while, are you still eating better than you were a year ago?
Yeah, that's what I thought. Me, too. I still have a martini here and there, but all in all, my body has been treated well, and I'm still losing inches. Heck, if I wore a girdle I know I'd be wearing a size sixteen right now!
Anyway, my surgery date was the 20th, and I'm still shy about 20 pounds. i don't expect to make it, but if you guys are willing, we can all go on a protein fest for the next week or ten days - kinda like the protein plateau buster.
We can all do it for the next week or so, and it'll either jump start some of us, or just get the rest of us on track for a new year of feeding the pouch.
Whaddya think? Email me and let me know and we can start Wednesday morning!

You gotta be more specific when you say, "standstill." How much did you weight, how much have you lost? When's the last time you lost weight, and are you exercising? How tall are you and how mucha re you eating?
You know the drill.
The fact is, we all lose differently. If you know for a fact that this is because of something you're doing or not doing, then put out the facts so we can support you.
I was guilty of falling on and off the wagon a number of times, then I broke my foot, so I wasn't able to exercise away the cheating I was doing. Guess what? I didn't gain any weight, but I didn't lose either. I kept flucuating between 4-7 pounds.
Finally got the boot off last week and started on the protien and water, adn guess what? I dropped 5 pounds in three days! I was stoked.
My goal is to be 140 pounds thinner by the 20th, and I've got twenty pounds to go. I'm not going to make it, but I'm not going to stop trying, either.
Hell! I just fit comfortably into a size 18/29 pair of jeans!!! I started this journey in a size 28. Guess who's happy!!!

Topic: RE: Okay, whos at goal??
Hi Emily-
I weighed in today and I am 3 lbs below goal. I couldn't beleive it. I list 4 lbs this week after several weeks of flopping back and forth between 126 and 127 - today I am at 122. I have been sick for the past 3 days so, this probably affected the scale. I know I will probably bounce back up a bit now that I am eating more normal as of today. Now if I could only get rid of the wrinkly skin - LOL. Have a great week. Keep up the great work - you'll get there.

Congradulations on your weight loss! I started out at 279. I had set a goal of 150 lbs. I have already made that goal, so I set a new goal of 145. I am at 148 right now. So, I may make it but if I don't I am still happy with my loss.
