Topic: RE: Negative messages to self...
Now I don't really believe in the "positive thinking" thing, but one thing that has helped me was making a tape of "positive messages" to myself and playing them each night as I go to sleep. I recorded things like "I enjoy exercise"
"I always make wise food choices" "I deserve to be thin"
etc, etc. Not ALL of these are "completely" true all the time, but I am hoping that they will "become" true by hearing them often.
You are a VERY successful RNY person, it is just hard to accept success after sooooooooooo many years of failure! After so many years of wishing I would wake up thin, I am now afraid of "waking up fat" again!!! What a nightmare. But, I know that it is not going to happen anymore than waking up thin was going to happen!!!
Keep on keeping on. You're doing great!! Blessings, Pam

Dearest Ruth,
I just want to join the "chorus" in singing Praises for what you have already accomplished and urging you to "keep on keeping on". I truly believe that you can reach your goal of 150. That is NOT unrealistic for bypass patients. In fact, I'd probably "have" to do it just so I could go back to my doctor and "rub his nose in it"!! LOL (I can be very beligerant)
Topic: RE: What a ride!!
Bless your heart!! You have had "quite the ride". Thankfully mine has not been quite as traumatic as yours, but mine has been quite the ride as well. I have lost 115 lbs. and am still 35 lbs. from goal, but I KNOW that I will make it!!! I am excited for all of us! You are going to succeed too, I just know it!! Blessings, Pamela
Topic: RE: Join Me for a Week of "BACK TO BASICS"
Ok guys I just took my vista vitamins I haven't taken those in awhile I had been taking the chewables again. Maybe upping the vitamins will help the weight loss start again. I made two quarts of crystal light I had two cups of coffee. I made 4 cans of tuna to eat on for the next two or three days if it is already made I am more likely to eat it instead of a bad choice. I would like to lose as much weight as possible this week. If I could just get going in the right direction again I would be so happy. I have been bouncing back and forth between 213 and 219 for over a month. neither weight is aceptable I started out at 299 thats just a loss of 80-86 lbs. So even though I am at a year out I can still lose the other 60lbs or so right? Good luck all have a great week!

Hi Tina
I am so ready today! I had my early morning water, vitamins, and for breakfast I had 3 slices of cheese, now I am just waiting my one hour before I begin to drink my water again and then for lunch I will have cottage cheese w/fruit, afternoon snack will be my protein shake, and then for dinner I am having white chili that my daughter made. It is loaded with all kinds of white beans and chicken----> she is one great cook! Just have to stay focused and remember that if I can do it for another week then it will be easier to stick to it and stay on program. Good luck Tina---WE CAN DO THIS!
Hugs

Marianne,
I am so ready. I have been stuck for about siz weeks even gained some. Urggh. I will be up at 4:45 to get my exercise in and start the day. The hardest part will be no coffee that has become my new addiction instead of food and Im not losing a lb!! So lets see what this week brings I have lost over one lb in a week since I was three months out. My weight loss slowed down as soon as solid food came back into my diet. It seems so crazy. Good Luck with ypour last 5-10 I know you will make it.

Topic: Join Me for a Week of "BACK TO BASICS"
Hi Everyone
Have you all been dealing lately with former cravings trying to sneak back into the picture? If so,--would you be ready and willing to join me for a week of getting back to basics, and begin a week of getting back on track? If so, then weigh yourself tomorrow morning, eat/drink nothing but your protein, water, vitamins and your small protein snacks in between and then we will weigh in again next Monday morning, announce our total weight loss for the week right here on this thread. I am looking forward to jump starting myself again. It worked the last time and I am hoping it will work again to allow me to get to my final goal of losing my last 5 to 10 pounds. Let me know if you are good to go on this. REMEMBER: Weigh in tomorrow and then again next Monday and meet back here after your weigh in Monday morning to announce your results. Good Luck! WE CAN DO IT!

Shannon,
I am so proud of you!!!!! I made my goal and surpassed it. I am at 230 now... Your mom is right..I find myself looking at myself..my wrists are so small a normal womans watch is too big..and before I could hardly wear a mans watch...I have a neck too...it makes me so excited. The only bad thing is all this damn skin...there is so much..my doctor thinks the panni I have left is all skin...he figures I will be about a size 12 or 14 after plastics...I hope so..this is so cool...I have never been that size...and can't wait...
You look so good...Wish we lived closer..I love talking to you. I wish life wouldn't get in the way....Glad to see you are doing so well!!!!
love ya sis,
April
