Topic: RE: Give it up..Fave Turkey Day foods&Recipes....
Hummm. To be honest the only thing I like is the mashed potatoes. I am not a fan of turkey and unless someone takes me to Longhorn for a nice steak that is basically what I will be eating. I love cranberry sauce too, not toe homemade kind (YUCK), but the ocean spray one that is the shape of the can yum yum yummy. I wish someone would make me some creamed spinach cause I do like that but I've never come across a good recipe. I hope someone makes something they really love. In this day and age there are tons of way to prepare all the favorites and even more healthier ways to prepare it. Happy Recipe Sharing..... Shannon

Hey Sept Board, Whats your favorite Thanksgiving foods? Can we pretty please have the recipe? I made this Pumpkin Pie last year and loved it - gonna do it again and I love Sweet Potatoe Casserole and this one looks like I might try it this year with a little tweaking to make with splenda products.... Double Layer Pumpkin Pie 4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened 1 Tbsp. milk 1 Tbsp. sugar (I'll use splenda) 1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP FREE Whipped Topping, thawed, divided 1 HONEY MAID Graham Pie Crust (6 oz.) 1 cup milk 1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin ** Be sure to use canned 100% pure pumpkin, not canned pumpkin pie mix. 2 pkg. (4-serving size each) S/F JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1/4 tsp. ground cloves MIX cream cheese, 1 Tbsp. milk and the sugar in large bowl with wire whis****il well blended. Gently stir in half of the whipped topping. Spread onto bottom of crust. POUR 1 cup milk into large bowl. Add pumpkin, dry pudding mixes and spices. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. (Mixture will be thick.) Spread over cream cheese layer. REFRIGERATE 4 hours or until set. Top with remaining whipped topping just before serving. Store leftover pie in refrigerator. Sweet Potato Crisp Recipe 1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened 1 can (40 oz.) cut sweet potatoes, drained 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar, divided (splenda version) 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 cup chopped apples 2/3 cup chopped cranberries 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats, uncooked 1/3 cup cold butter or margarine 1/4 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Beat cream cheese, sweet potatoes, 1/4 cup of the sugar and cinnamon with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Spoon into 1-1/2-quart casserole dish; top with apples and cranberries. MIX flour, oats and remaining 1/2 cup sugar in medium bowl; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle over fruit mixture. BAKE 35 to 40 minutes or until heated through. KRAFT KITCHENS TIPS Great Substitute Prepare as directed, using PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, 1/3 Less Fat than Cream Cheese. Now - How About YOU????? I just love this time of year. - hugs - dea

I can't believe I have been away from the board so long - I recommitted myself this morning to staying on track, journaling what I eat on FitDay, drinking my water and back to exercising. I have been having some back problems so I convinced myself that I deserved not following protocol - wrong thing to do. I like a lot of you don't want to regain this weight. I went through all of this because I wanted a better life and it's up to me to make sure I get it. I went through the sclerotherapy procedure last week. Boy was that an event. I went there thinking no big thing I had had four scopes already but I didn't realize how much more pain I would feel for about 3 days afterward. The first two days after the numbing medication died down everytime I ate I felt like I was having a heart attack. What finally dawned on me was that I had gone so long being able to eat anything and not having to chew things up really good that I had to go back to the basics and remember to chew, chew, chew. Also they must have had to pump air in as well as the whole chest area just hurt. Now almost a week down I feel 100 percent better and can tell that it is making a difference. I have been having a ball with my Red Hat ladies group - something I would never have dared to do when I was heavier. So far I have lost a total of around 120 lbs. Looking forward to picking up two new Shih Tzus (dogs to those who aren't familar) the week of Thanksgiving as we had to put the last of ours down a few weeks back. House is really quiet now and I miss the activity so I'm getting really excited about our new additions. Jo Jo is about a year and a half and just had a C-section so breeder is letting her go. I then of course had to pick her up a friend so I'm also getting a 5 month old female as well. Remind me how much I wanted them in a couple of months when I'm taking them out during one of our Michigan blizzards. Hope everyone is doing good. I think of you often and promise to be a more prominent member to the board. Take care.

I haven't thought about it yet. I never ask for anything cause I am to busy making sure everyone else is happy. I know some may say it isn't right but I have one major wish. My husband is up for a job that would transform our lives far better then I could imagine. I guess if there is room for one more Christmas miracle that would be ours. Other then that I just hope it doesn't snow. LOL I don't want to have to shovel.... Shannon

I had mine out about 3 months ago. I have to tell you that the gas pains I had after surgery were very bad. They lasted almost a week, dying down a bit each day. It worked though cause I am not having the pain I was having prior to getting it out. I guess for you it would just depend on how much pain the stones are causing you. If it weren't for that darn gas pain I probably would have been fine. I didn't get those pains after my gastric bypass surgery so I wasn't prepared. I wish you the best. Shannon

I want a Palm Pilot TX. They are like 3 bills, so I have been checking the rebates in the sunday paper each week. Haven't found one yet. They are much lighter than carrying a Taber's Medical Dictionary and a drug guide...ah the life of a nursing student! KT
