Hi! Old hang ups . . . I can totally relate to that! I've heard statistics about how WLS helps you lose a certain percentage of excess weight, like 75 percent for instance. I personally believe that weight loss might stop there because old eating habits return. If you continue doing what you're doing, your weight loss should continue! Last week I went back to keeping a little chart of what I was eating and how many carbs, protein grams and calories I was taking in. I haven't done that in months but I feel like I have slacked off somewhat and I needed to reevaluate. Maybe you could do the same. Maybe you have some hidden calories/carbs that you aren't thinking about that are sabotaging you? Also you are exercising alot, so am I. I'm wondering if that slows down the weight loss since muscle weighs more than fat? I'm going for my 6-month check up tomorrow and will ask my doctor. Hugs, Sandy

Congrats Jo, Lynn, and Tina! I hit 6 months yesterday and I'm at 175 down from 268 (-93). I seem to be stuck at 175, I'm thinking it's because I'm exercising so much, is that possible??? Hugs, Sandy I thought it would be more exciting to hit 6 months but it seemed like any other day. It did feel good that it was the first day of spring though. I can't wait to hit 100 pounds, that will feel exciting!

Oooh Tonya - I'm so sorry that you are not feeling well...but sweetie - if it IS a stricture and you don't go to the doctor - you will put yourself in more jeopardy than anything. Please CALL THE DOC"S office!! I understand about the deductible (mine is will go up this year) and your school test - but you'r life is more important. If however, some time has past and you are feeling better - than whatever you had passed.. but don't risk putting your health in danger...I'd rather have to pay or miss a test rather than end up in the hospital for weeks trying to recoup from damage that I did to myself for waiting. This is most important since you already had an episode with a stricture already and they can come back. Keep us posted!

Topic: will the lose stop ??
I was reading about the wls the last few day's, about how we are told that we will lose 80 to 100 lbs. and the rest will be up to us. Well I am a slow loser!! (bummer).I still need to lose 43 lbs. It is comming off soooo slow now I am a little worried that it will stop. Do you ever think about this.Everyone lookes so close's at me how I am doing what I am eating, how much I lose.I dont think I will stop losing but being a slow loser make's me worrie. Will this weight loss stop, I work very hard to lose the weight that I have lost, I work out 5 day's a week, and eat and drink right. I do want to make it to goal,I dont realy care what people, think or say. It must be my old hang up's poping up, let me know if you ever think this way.

You are doing good! I had a stricture and an ulcer and an opening between my stomach and pouch so I didn't keep much food in early on. What a way to get a jumpstart! Everything is all healed up now. Thanks to my 3 excellent doctors and how they care!
