Topic: RE: Peeking in from the oct. boards Up for ?'s
Hi Honey!! Welcome aboard!! You are doing SUPER DUPER!! I started at 285 and down to 201 since surgery, so I haven't quite reached Onederland yet, but am hoping to this week. I have been "hungry" since day one, but I try to stick to a very regimented eating schedule. I eat six mini-meals daily and that is working well for me. I eat breakfast at 7, hi-pro. hot chocolate at 10, lunch at 12, hi-pro. shake at 3, dinner at 6 and a hi-pro drink or snack at 8-9. Eating every 2-3 hours keeps my sugar levels regulated and I KNOW that I am not going to "die" from hunger within 2-3 hours!!! Mentally, it is still pretty hard. Much harder than I thought it would be. I can still eat sugar without dumping, so that has been hard for me. I try to limit my consumption to just a bite or two of something chocolate every day. I just be sure that I count that bite or two in my daily calorie consumption and don't go over 1200 calories daily. Keep hanging in!! You are going to make it just fine!!! Hugs, Pam

Topic: Great info
Hi guys,
I stumbled upon a really good website. For those of you who find fitday lacking as far as their food database goes, or anyone who ever wants to know the calorie count on something... I think this is the most complete site of it's kind I've seen. I don't think I can post the URL but it is www calorieking (dot) com. I read that you can use them like fitday also to journal your food and run reports, but it is twenty dollars a year. That's pretty reasonable but all my info's on fitday and I don't think I'm ready to abandon it. They have a huge food database however, including fast foods and name brands. I've known about it for a day and have already utilized it. (malted milk eggs are evil and must die. Thank God I only ate 2 and they are around 11 calories each.)

Topic: RE: 6 month checkup
1) pre-op weight was 228--- 5'1"
2) goal weight... we'll say 128 (makes the math so much easier!)
3) I've lost about 71 lbs
4) At least 29 more lbs
5) 71% (see how I simplified that math!!!)
But I have to qualify these stats by saying that according to lots of weight charts I should weigh 105 for my height.
That would mean I'm only about 58% of the way there.
I can't imagine losing 52 more lbs without looking emaciated in my face. So I guess I wont know the answer to this till I get closer to goal. We're ALL doing GREAT!

Ok, here goes . . . (thanks for the little reminder about how to figure percentages for those of us who are math-challenged, haha!) also might be helpful to note our heights.
1. started at 268 and i'm 5'2"
2. immediate goal-136 (top of normal range) eventual goal-123ish
3. weight loss at 6 months-93
4. amt. desired to lose-145
5. percentage lost at 6 mo.-64

Topic: RE: will the lose stop ??
I do. I don't consider myself a slow loser but it has slowed down considerably since the way I was loosing the first few months. I was dropping over 20 pounds a month. Now maybe 10. I have a week where I don't drop then it seems like I am losing a pound a day. It all depends. You are very close to your goal so I wouldn't worry. If you still had 200 pounds to lose and it was slowing down considerably then I would say well it may not all come off but your way to close.
Keep up the great work.

To be totally honest with you I am still in your frame of mind. I eat like you, sometimes a little more one day sometimes not much at all another day. I have 36.5 pounds until I reach 170. That is my goal. The charts say I should weight about 155 so that would make it 51.5 pounds to get there. I really am not sure what I will look like at 170 so I am going to stop there and reassess it all. If I continue to lose after I get to 170 then that's fine but if I mantain that's fine too.
I still get scared I am not going to make goal. I've never gotten this close but in the past when i've gotten anywhere it's always stopped and the weight has always returned. One thing I am happy with is that I no longer obsess over the scale. I no longer freak out if I don't lose for a week or 2. I don't care if I weigh 206.5 one morning and later on in hte afternoon I weight 208. I would get so scared I was gaining in the past, but I know now that drinking 24 ounces of water 3 times in a day is going to add some pounds until I pee it all out.
Your doing great and wish you added success in the future.
Thanks for stopping by..

Topic: RE: 6 month post-op
At first I just wanted to be under 200. My next goal was 175. I kept saying that my unrealistic goal was 150. So, if I ever get there I will be very excited. My weight has just crawled these past two months. I am eating alot more and not enough meats. My favorite is soup. I feel like I ate when I eat more than four bites and soup is easiest for me. I do need to exercise. I work fulltime and go to school fulltime and have three kids 3, 9, 10 at home. I have a full schedule. I am hoping when I graduate in July that I have atleast 30 more minutes a day for myself. I would love to get down to 150. What is your goal? I just had a new pic posted. I look at myself before and never thought it was me in that picture. Sounds weird, I know. I just never saw myself that big. I think it is so weird. I think it is cool that we are twins. You are doing great also. We just need to keep on the right track. How is your eating? I am afraid that I am overeating. I eat everything but in moderation food wise except for sweets. I do take a bite of anything I want but just do not eat more than fits in my hand. That is what my doctor always said. Never eat more than you can fit in your hand. So, I do not deprive myself of anything. I just do not eat alot of it.
