Dawn,
Try increasing your Protein, Exercise, and/or Water (PEW). Also, be sure you are getting enough calories in. From what I've read about others further post-op, many have experienced a huge slow down because their body goes into starvation mode because of not enough calories. Check with your dietician, but I heard that 1000-1200 is an average goal (you can track this on fitday.com).
Good luck!

Topic: chicken/turkey neck cream...
Hi everyone
Thanks so much to everyone who posted about my progress pictures. You guys and my family are the only ones I would show those to. I know you all understand. (((hugs)))). Everyone asked about the chicken neck cream
I have to preface this with saying that I don't even know if this is what has done the trick or if it would have corrected itself anyway over time, or if it's been the exercise. I don't do any specific exercises for my neck (I wondered if that would just stretch it more!!!) But when you do some of those weights and crunches I think it does work your neck. (Lord knows I spent my life chewing and I should have the firmest neck in town!) Maybe it's just the act of rubbing ANY cream into my face and neck on a daily basis that's helping
But enough disclaimers! I've been using L'oreal Dermo Expertise Age Perfect Day Cream $16.99 at Target, and it came with a free eye cream. The chicken neck is not gone, but it is definitely much better. Now I think I need to rub something on my wrinkly upper arm/ armpit region... UGH.
Thanks again for being such a great support to me-
Love,
Sue

Hi Dawn,
It feels like I am slowing down too, but how about inches how are you doing with losing inches. I know that since I have picked up the exercising, I am losing inches. I know we all look at what the scale says. Don't get discouraged, your body may just be losing inches now instead of pounds, losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle weights more than fat. It sounds like you are still doing what you are suppose to. I would worry to much.

Topic: What the heck...s-l-o-w-i-n-g down....
Hello Everyone!
Hope you all had a great Easter (minus the chocolate bunnies! I opted for fuzzy stuffed ones this year!)
Okay, so since I only weigh on holidays, today was the day...I've only lost another 5 pounds since March 12th (my anniversary, that's why I weighed then!) That makes only 20 pounds since my last doctor's appointment on Jan. 17th. What is going on? Is my rapid weight loss phase already over???
I was six months out on this past Tuesday. I have lost 117 pounds so far (no, I'm not ungrateful, just worried...) I was losing 20+ poundds a month the first 4 months and now...s-l-o-w-i-n-g down. I thought when I started exercising (back in January) that it would start flying off but instead it's down to almost nothing! My original goal was to be at 200 by my birthday at the end of May, but that's 23 pounds away and at only 2 pounds a week (if I'm lucky) that won't happen.
What am I doing wrong? Any advice on how to jump start the loss again? PLEASE???
Thanks everyone!
Dawn

Topic: Christina R. - chemo questions????
Hi. I was wondering how you are doing with your chemo treatments? I was also wondering if you wanted to share the "hows" of your treatment.
I saw my rheumatologist this week for continued joint pain and barely being able to move. In the past, I tested ++ for the lupus DNA antibodies. But now, he is sure I have psoriatic arthritis. The treatment for this is low dose chemotherapy. (the jury is still out on whether or not I have lupus too. )
I will be starting these chemotherapy treatments this week. These are low dose treatments and I'm sure are nothing compared to what you are going through.. . .
But I am curious about nausea and hair loss. Also, do you take yours via IV or pills. I will start out on pills. Three pills in 24 hours. The drug is called methotrexate. Then, I will take a folic acid.
I'm nervous. I was told that they will make me sick for the first 24 hours and to be prepared to have some help with my kids. But other than that, I was just curious.
thanks and ((( HUGS )))
