Congrats.... I wish we weighed in at our meetings. 115 pounds down is great. 20-30 pounds before you hit your goal is absolutly amazing. Keep up the great work. Shannon

Hi everyone, I just had to share my GREAT news with you all. I weighed in last night at a support group meeting...i weighed 199lbs. WOO HOO!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. I am finally under 200 lbs, i didn't think this day would ever get here. That makes my total weight loss 115 lbs. I still have another 20-30 lbs to go, but i'm just so excited to get to this point. I am in a size 14 and i haven't been this small since i was a teenager, i am 33 now. As you can tell, i'm really excited. Well, thanks for listening to me. I wish you all good luck and keep up the good work!!! ~Missy~

Don't be too hard on yourself, you are doing awesome. Step it up though if you feel like you're slackin'. Put the body in motion!!! I have been "kicking it up a notch" this week with the exercise and I am loving it. I think I recall that you joined a gym, right? Get in there and do some eliptical. Then challenge yourself to do a few minutes more. Then do a couple of the weight machines. Each time do just a bit more. We're here for you baby! Love, Sue

Hi Tina, You sound too together (like always!) to be mentally incompetant! Better think of something else!! As always, I am blown away by your humor and strength throughout this process, I wish you weren't dealing with it, but I feel confident you are going to come through all this and be one bad ass chick not to be messed with by anyone or anything! I'm glad you are wearing the bald thing well! My head is flat in the back and I would not look so good. Congrats on making the century club! Our little september group is kicking butt and our own century club seems to be adding members all the time. Take care of yourself through this tough chemo stuff and get enough rest. Thanks for checking in with us with all you've got going on. I've been thinking about you and I'm sure that everyone else is concerned as well. (((HUGS and Love)))) God bless you and check in again soon. Tell Eric hi from all of us too! Love, Sue

Hi Karen, Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing great! I'm sorry to hear about your hernia, but I know they can often use that to get part of the tummy tuck surgery covered by insurance! I think my dr does that also Keep up the good work, don't strain yourself and I too am looking forward to making the most of the rest of this first year till tummy tuck time! Yippeee! Love, Sue

Topic: RE: Just wondering
Are you sure it was just splenda in there and not sugar alcohols also such as Maltitol? Sugar alcohols can give you cramping and diarreah just like dumping if you have too much of it or are sensitive to them. I have heard somewhere of other people seeming to dump from splenda only food, but maybe it wasn't the splenda, maybe it was the flour or some other carb ingredient. All carbs turn to sugar in the body so you could technically dump from any carby food. My first dumping experience was from a pasta and shrimp lean cuisine, and I rarely even dump from sweets. (I still try to avoid sugar though!) You might try a splenda sweetened drink and see if you can tolerate it, that wouldn't have any carbs in it. Or you can just avoid splenda, but I know that's hard. I bought some natural sweetener made from a plant called Stevia, I try to put that in my tea some of the time to lessen my exposure to splenda just because i think it's best to keep artificial sweeteners to a minimum anyway. It's not as good though. Hope that helps! ~Sue
