Topic: RE: 6 Month followup (with hernia!)
Hi Karen - I'm catching up on posts since I was away last week. I have a terrible hernia, it's huge! My surgeon, whom I adore, advised me to wait til I reach my goal to repair it so I could combine it with a TT. But my surgeon doesn't do plastic surgery, he recommended another surgeon and they will be in the operating room together coordinating. My consultation with the PS is June 24 and I'm aiming for surgery in September, figuring I'll have reached goal by then and the kids will be in school. Why don't you go on your state message board of OH and ask around whether anyone has used your surgeon for PS and if so what their experiences have been. The bottom line is making sure you have total trust in your doctor. Don't ever feel like you are going to "hurt" his feelings by choosing a different PS. This is all about your health and your comfort level! My new mantra is: "me me me, it's all about me!" Congrats on your success and good luck with your decision. Let us know what you decide! Hi Christine, I went through this yesterday and it scared the heck out of me because I felt like it was my first real "pig out" since surgery. I was planning to just have a tiny dinner but I came home starved and pms-ing and ate tooo much. I felt miserable for over an hour afterward. Not to mention scared of my lack of control. My calories went way over for the day too. If you put everything I ate on a plate it wouldn't have seemed horrible, but I picked and picked at stuff until I wanted to pop. Thankfully my appetite usually decreases DURING the time that time of the month, it's just before that I guess I'm hungrier. Welcome back from lurkdom, it looks like your post hit a nerve with all of us girls! I hadn't noticed this crazy pms hunger before you pointed it out! Congrats on century club too Christine! WOO HOO on 106 lbs down! Love, Sue

Thanks Sue! We got married on the beach in Mexico about 1 1/2 years ago. It was so amazing. I would do it again like that in a second. Kelley

I haven't noticed this - but it could be possible - i'll have to check the next time..what i did notice was that i don't have or maybe this time around - that I didn't have that chocolate craving fixation this time of the month..umm...that always a good thing. Although i have heard that at 6 months our pouchs have healed and we can eat more - so im now more watchful of my portions. Those things we did in the beginning we have to put into practice all the time.

Topic: RE: Sue Boo-What did your surgeon say about . . .
Hey Sue! I would tend to think if you're having thyroid problems that may be what's causing the dizziness and the heart palpatations. When my medication needs adjusted those are the first signs, for me anyway. The plastics sounds good, I thought like you that I would only need my tummy and maybe a breat lift. But now I'm thinking maybe thighs and arms too. I too don't want to go under the knife a million more times, but if they can be combined like that, I'd have to say go for it. Especially if you feel like it will help you feel better. I know I would. As far as your thyroid goes, I'll be thinking about you and hope all turns out well. I'm sure though everything will turn out okay. I know I'm jumping around here, but that's the way my brain works, I think if your insurance covers the plastics I'd do it. Now my brain is going blank, I'm always saying I just lost my train, I know there was something else I wanted to say but *poof* it's gone. Anyway, hang in there and know that we're all thinking of you and we're here to support you! Jo

Right before I get my period I am totally starving. It started like last month. I noticed that it seemed as if I was never full. Now I am due tomorrow and I am back to hardly eating much and getting full fast. Your not alone.... Shannon
