One Year Today
I've never actually "posted" before, although I have "responded" to a lot of posts! I just had to write and say "What a difference a year makes!!" I feel MUCH better today than I did a year ago today at this time. Although I was "pretty much" still unconscious a year ago at this time!!! I've lost 115 lbs. and am only 35 lbs. from my goal. I NEVER thought I'd be saying that!!! I am wearing size 14-16 clothes down from a 30-32 or 4x. I could not even walk up one flight of stairs a year ago, and today I walked across campus, up 4 flights of stairs and back down, all the way to the "other side" of campus and back (including several other flights of stairs) and back to my office and was really not even winded. It's an absolute MIRACLE!!!
Please celebrate with me!! Thanks. Pamela
Pam, this is TOO FREAKY!!!! Today I went to see my surgeon and my weight in total loss is 115 also and I'm about 35-36 lbs from my goal weight as well!!!! And from size 24-26 I"m using 12, 14-16 as well!!!!!!! I totally am on the same page as you feeling great but also feeling sad and weepy, reflective. Because at the back of my head still feeling that's not enough. I wasn't sure I was gonna post or not but decided to check here and saw your post - and freaked out when I saw your numbers matching mine. Congratulations on your weightloss Gastric Buddy!! This is so cool!! Now the only missing is sharing this news/life with someone special. Take care!!!
I am one year today too! I was a size 30/32, now a 14/16 - And while I have lost 158 of my 318 lbs, I am still not at my goal, I have had many complications and so have now excercised at all and am expecting one more surgery later this month - all in all, the weight loss is great, but I dont think I would do it again or reccommend it to anyone...
Hi Pamela & Ruth
Just like the two of you, I TOO lost 115 pounds. I have passed my Dr.'s goal and am only 5-10 lbs away from mine. Right now I weigh 150 and would like to get to 140. I feel wonderful! The only bad thing right now is since I am a year out, I can eat more than I did a year ago which means I must really stick to portion control. Do the two of you notice the same thing? Congrats on your terrific weight loss.
Hugs
Marianne
Sorry - just noticed this post...but YES, I have noticed I can eat more though I do watch what I eat. I still stay away from carbs but notice sometimes graze and sometimes eat candy. But I still pretty much try to eat a little bit and sometimes not enough. A revision is not in my future! Myweight has remained the same which is frustrating but im having some stresses about moving out of my apt to another and not focused on my exercise regime as much as possible but still do a bit..it's a lifelong process to continue to work at it..i think about food, exercise etc more than ever you know being careful more than anything.
