I had WLS about a year ago now and have lost about 140 pounds. I feel fantastic! About 4 months ago now, I met a wonderful man who I love very much. We met, of course, with me being at least 120 lbs thinner. About 6 months after my WLS I had gallbladder surgery and have used that surgery as the "excuse" for the scars on my belly. I feel that I need to tell him that I've had WLS ... has anyone else had this experience? I'm terrified that he'll be angry that I haven't been open about this with him and he'll leave. Any advice?

You should tell him he should love you even more because ,you made a change in your life and then because of the change you met .Him!!!

Honesty is always the best policy. If he does leave, then he wasn't the guy for you. How long do you think it will be before you meet someone and they tell him? This is a BIG part of your life and you definitely need to share it with him. Tell him you didn't tell him at first because you were not sure what he would think. Now you feel need to tell him to be totally honest with him. If he is as great as you say, he will understand. In addition, if you spend quite abit of time with him, he should know that you've had the surgery in case you have a complication of some kind and he has to tell the doctors about your medical needs. For instance, the no blind intubation thing is important. If you had to be intubated because you couldn't breathe, then you probably couldn't talk either. So, he'd have to tell them. TP
