One Year and regret I didn't do more!

I am a little down at my one year anniversary! I am down 91 pounds.. I had been down 96 pounds for a minute a week and a half ago but have since been in a head battle with myself and not winning!. Also due to my hernia I have not been able to play tennis, my main source of exercise. Yes I could have walked but didn't! I had really wanted to hit that century mark by today! ***My old mentality of all or nothing has crept back into my mind*** How stupid is it that 9 pounds is going to make me feel so bad?!!! I have to think about the good that has come in the last year and I have to think of the next 6 months of opportunity ahead of me!!!! I am having hernia repair, TT and breast lift/aug in 8 days and then as soon as I am given the go ahead I am going to hit the courts hard! (My team of ladies are waiting eagerly for my return!) I really want to lose 20-25 pounds and reach my goal of 155-160! I am thinking I will feel pretty good about myself after I heal from my surgery and that will give me another boost to get to my goal. Although not looking forward to recovery one little bit.! I will let you all know how my surgery went. Thanks for being here for me when I need you all! Karen

Karen, I am right with you girl. I am one year out on the 20th and I have lost 86lbs and keep bouncing up about 6 lbs. I hae been discouraged since about three months out my weight loss slowed to about 3-5 lbs per month and that just doesn't seem right. At my one year my dr and I are going to check things out because I email them everyother month saying something just isn't right. I still need to get off about 60 lbs and I will get it off. I was up at 4:45 this morning for my three mile walk then vitamins and 16oz of H2O then at 7 2oz of turkey and a piece of swiss cheese. Didn't think I could tolerate protein drink this morning. We are having a back to basics week this week if you would like to join we started yesterday. Take your weight from yesterday and only have h2o and protein all week and see what happens check back in on monday Oct 3 and report your results. We can all do this together and I believe most of us on the Sept. board are having the same issues. Good Luck and I hope you join us. Tina

Karen - You've got to get past these negative thoughts, JUST STOP! That is the old you sweetie! When was the last time you lost 91 pounds??? Don't look at how far you have to go, look at how far you've come and feel the joy that should come with your tremendous success. You have lost ALOT of weight girl! And you WILL lose the rest! This is not a race. Just keep workin' it, slow and steady. Good luck with your upcoming surgery and let us know how everything goes, I too have a massive hernia which is becoming very uncomfortable so I have to be very selective about my exercise. I'm having it repaired along with an extended abdominoplasty and breast lift on 11/22. So let me know what I'm in for! Hang in there Karen! XO, Sandy

Are you having to pay for the TT and the breast lift? I assume the hernia repair is covered by insurance. I am scheduled to see my Pcp this week and I want to ask about that. I need a hernia repair and I'm hoping I can get a tummy tuck along with it but I don't know.

At this point I am thinking I will NOT be covered for anything other than the hernia... there is a slight chance that the panni may be covered, but I really am not counting on it. I can't beleive a week from today I will be waiting for morning to go to the hospital!!!! Karen

Hi Lisa, How are you? I am now almost 5 weeks out from TTw/anchor, breast lift/aug, lipo and of course hernia repair. I am feeling about 75% back to normal... my breasts are still not healed all the way and I have a seroma above my belly button that comes and goes.... other than that I am really starting to feel pretty good. Are you feeling o.k.? your surgery was not that long ago... It took me all of the first 4 weeks to feel somewhat o.k.... it really took longer than I thought, but I think a lot of my pain was from lipo. Let me know how you are doing. Karen
