POed with surgeon's office
Today I got a letter in the mail from my PCP's office. Apparently my Vitamin D is very low. He is putting me on an 8 week regiment of I believe (if i heard the lady right) 60,000IU of Vitamin D once a week for 8 week's. To me that makes me believe my level must be pretty low. I am going to talk to the pharmacist when I pick up my scrip. Anyway, what ****** me off is that my surgeon is the one who ordered these test's at my last follow up visit. His office is the one that should have gotten back to me. When I had my blood drawn the lady asked if I wanted anyone else to get a copy of my results and of course I said my PCP because I always do. Had I not done that I would still be sitting here thinking everything was ok. I am going to wait and see if the surgeon's office get's back to me. I am going to give them 2 week's, then I am going to call and give them hell. It is not my responsability to know when something is wrong with me when I am not given the results. That is the responsability of the doctor. Anyone else have an issue with vitamin D? The thing with it too is that I've been complainging to my hubby for the last week that all my joint's hurt. I mean all of them. I looked it up today on line and that is a symptom of low vitamin D.
Thanks for reading....

I'm not necessarily trying to take up for your surgeon's office, but since you did request that your PCP be notified, maybe they KNEW that your PCP would contact you. They may have an "arrangement" worked out, so before you "jump" your surgeon's office, you might check with your PCP's office and see if they had something worked out...
Just a suggestion!! Pamela
